“I want us both to feel the joy of finding our release at the same time.” He reached down to fondle her again and gave a slight nod. “Aye, I think you’re ready now.”
Then ever so slowly, he slipped his hardened form into her, making sure she wasn’t uncomfortable before he continued. She watched as they joined together, finally becoming one.
When he’d entered her completely, a smile spread across her face. She was no longer frightened about making love because she felt as if they fit together perfectly and this is how it was meant to be.
Connor’s hips started to move and so did hers as they met each other over and over again.
They did the dance of love as he thrust into her and pulled back out, each time making her more and more excited. It didn’t take long for her to learn how to move to please him like he was pleasing her. And then a feeling overcame her that she’d never felt before.
“Oh, Connor, something is happening.”
“Let loose, Eleanor. Don’t hold back.”
They both found their release, their hot bodies pressed deliciously together as they rose to the highest heights, finding the passion that she always knew was there. They held each other tightly in a lovers’ embrace. Then the feeling subsided and they parted, but lay next to each other in the hay, holding each other, kissing, and making Eleanor wish this would never end.
“That was… better than I’d ever imagined,” he told her.
“It was wonderful, Connor. We belong together. Always.”
Before he could answer, she heard a lot of commotion and got up and looked out the window of the hayloft to see Albert driving the wagon back from the field with his wife, Lark and Raven, the children, and the dog as well. With them was someone that Eleanor had not expected to see.
“Rose. It’s Rose! And Rook,” said Eleanor. “They’re here. Now we can heal your father. Hurry, we need to get dressed.”
They both dressed quickly and headed down the ladder. He was first and helped her so she wouldn’t slip on the rungs.
“Fast, don your tunic,” she told him, picking it up and tossing it to him. Their eyes interlocked again, and she gave him one more kiss for now, hoping it wouldn’t be the last time she ever kissed him.
She ran out to greet Rose and Rook, just as lightning slashed across the sky and thunder boomed overhead.
“Let’s get this wagon into the barn before the peas get wet and moldy,” called out Albert, driving.
The sky opened up and rain pelted down just as the wagon entered the barn.
“Children, get into the house, and take Roger,” called out Edna, trying to herd them to the cottage door. “Everyone, follow me.”
“The house is small. The rest of us can wait in the barn until the rain let’s up,” suggested Eleanor. “Rose and Rook, I am so glad you are finally here.”
Lark, Raven, Rook, and Rose stayed in the barn. Albert was there, as well as Connor.
Eleanor gave Rose a hug. “I’m so glad you came.”
“I spotted them on the road and called them over,” announced Lark.
“I would have come sooner, but Rook insisted I wait for him to finish up some business.”
“That’s right,” said Rook. “I was not about to let my wife go anywhere without me at her side.”
“Where is the castle guard?” asked Raven curiously.
“I sent him back to Blake Castle since he was no longer needed,” said Rook, noticing Connor standing there. “You’re the hangman,” he said.
“Rook, this is Connor Wyland,” Eleanor told him. “You remember him, don’t you? I was betrothed to him as a child.”
“Oh, I know exactly who he is,” said Rook, looking him up and down.
“Eleanor, I was told to come immediately and that someone needed my help,” said Rose. “What is this all about?”
“Connor’s father is sick. Because he is the hangman, no one will administer help to him in any way,” explained Eleanor. “You know a lot about herbs, Rose, so I was hoping you could help him.”
