Dusting myself off, I took a look at my clothes. I was covered in mud. Maye he was right, but I wasn’t going to admit it. I could feel mud caked to my butt, but refused to acknowledge it.
He came over and tried to dust me off, but mud was caked in my hair, on my back, my legs, everywhere. He laughed and then I started to laugh and that’s when a light shone on us, bringing our laughter to an abrupt end.
Instantly, Ty stepped in front of me. Blocking whomever was shining their light on me from seeing me.
“What are you two doing back here?” came an authoritative-sounding voice. If I had to guess, I would assume it was a cop or security. “The show was rained out, so all of you have to go.”
“We were just looking for my keys, officer. We lost them in the rain.”
“You lost your keys back here while it was raining? How exactly?” He clearly didn’t believe us, but I didn’t blame him. “Find your keys and then head home. I’ll be in the parking lot if you need me.” With that, the cop turned around and left.
“I guess we better find those keys,” I said, moving towards the hill where we had fled which seemed eons ago but in truth, it had been fifteen minutes at most.
He turned on the flashlight of his cellphone and attempted to find the key. We were lucky that we remembered exactly where we’d sat because that’s where we found the keys.
He grabbed them, and I said a thankful prayer in my head. But then upon closer inspection he realized that his car key was no longer on the key chain.
“Great,” he said bitterly.
“This sucks...”
“I’ll call a ride-share.”
Less than ten minutes later, we were in the back of a ride-share driven by a kid who didn’t look to be over sixteen years old.
“So what happened to you guys?” he said, not bothering to just ignore the fact that we were covered in mud.
“We’re professional mud wrestlers,” Ty said, and I pinched him.
“Cool,” the kid said, dropping the subject.
In the darkness, Ty took my hand and leaned my head against his shoulder. It was unexpected, but covered in mud, in the darkness of a stranger’s car, all I could think of was how happy I was.
Chapter Nine
I woke up next to Ty, his arms wrapped around my middle. We spent many mornings waking up the same way. In fact, I spent more time at his home then I did my own nowadays. My houseplants were starting to hate me.
I could feel him pressed up against me and I turned over, ready to engage in an early morning romp.
“Morning,” he said sleepily tracing his hands over my hip.
“Morning,” I said, pushing him over and climbing on top of him. He was already hard.
“You’re insatiable,” he said, as I slowly lowered myself onto his waiting shaft. Loving the way he stretched me, filled me. And still wet from our activities from earlier that evening, he slid into my wetness easily.
“I think I might be addicted to you,” I breathed. Who was I kidding? I was more than addicted. I was in love.
An hour later, we had showered and dressed. Ty was heading out to a conference and I planned to work from home. He placed a kiss on my temple as he made me breakfast.
I was sure I had gained at least five pounds since I started spending so much time at Ty’s house. What could I say? He was a good cook.
“You know you could stay here and get your work done instead of heading all the way home,” he said as he mixed pancake batter and added fresh blueberries. My mouth watered. I was starving. I reached for an apple, hoping that would help fill me up so that I wouldn’t scarf down ten pancakes in one sitting. I wasn’t a huge fan of moderation. I couldn’t get enough pancakes. And I couldn’t get enough of Ty.
I thought about his offer, but also considered all the things I had to get done today. I planned to meet up with Dana and Becca for another event at Meredith’s school. I couldn’t do that if I was all the way on the other side of town.
“It’s fine, I need to meet up with Dana and Becca anyway. We’re going to an event at the school. Are you going to be there?”
He looked up and said, “Danny didn’t mention anything nor did his mom.”
