I needed a wall, a table—something. Anything to give us what we both wanted so desperately.

In the end, I settled on a three-seater couch positioned in front of what looked like a 77-inch TV. Behind the sofa stretched a floor-to-ceiling window, showcasing the city skyline.
I sat down, June still in my arms.
That was when she came alive.
She kissed my cheek—left, then right. Her lips trailed up to my right eye. I leaned back, moaning softly, closing my eyes, savoring the delicate pleasure of her kisses.
Forehead. Left eye. Left earlobe. Neck.
June was kissing me.
Not Dannie—whatever his name was. He was irrelevant right now. She had chosen me. Not him.
The competitive side of me couldn’t help but pat myself on the shoulder, congratulating the less confident part of me for winning June.
No air in my lungs.
I couldn’t breathe the more she kissed me.
No words in my mouth. Except her name.
I moaned her name. I wanted to tell her how much she meant to me, but nothing came out. I had always known what to say to a woman in bed. It was second nature to me. I always knew what to say, how to let a woman know they were beautiful, they were sexy. But right now? Nothing.
She was more than everything I had ever known.
So fucking beautiful.
So damn sexy.
Young me wouldn’t have survived a woman like her. She wasn’t the most gorgeous woman in the world—not even the most gorgeous woman I had been with.
But she was my dream woman.
Given time, any man could grow bored of the most stunning woman. But their dream woman? Never.
I sat there, mind completely blank. I was hers, completely hers. Whatever she wanted to do to me, whatever she wanted me to do to her.
Then the kisses stopped.
Or the nibbling.
Either way, my left earlobe wasn’t happy.
She sat up, one leg draped over mine before straddling my lap. With deliberate control, she lifted my chin with the tip of her finger, hunching over to press her lips to mine.
Breath left my lungs.
I cupped the back of her head, my mouth searching for air in hers.
Desperate.
My life depended on it.
