He laughed. “I can do better than that.” He cradled her face with his wet, soapy hands. At the slick touch of his skin, a delicious shiver rippled through her. Leaning down, he gently kissed her. “I can….”
Her breath caught as she slid her arms around him. “Yes?”
“Run you a bubble bath.”
Anticipation swirled up inside her. “I would like that.”
“I thought you might.” He lightly kissed her again. “First, let me deal with Cora’s cookies. It’ll only take me a minute.”
Molly glanced at the plate nearby on the counter. Envy poked at her. While she enjoyed baking and considered herself reasonably good at it, Cora’s cookies were exceptional in their decoration. Cora must have bought the sprinkles from an upscale cooking store, because Molly had never seen anything like them before.
Lucian kept one arm around her as he reached to draw the plate closer. “I resisted these at the shop.”
“I noticed.”
“I figured as soon as I took a bite of cookie, I’d get a phone call or need to answer a question for a customer.” He pulled back the plastic wrap. “Want to share one? You can stay right where you are. I’ll hand feed you, milady.”
Another shiver raced through her, because he’d fed her little morsels before. While the idea of Lucian’s fingers brushing her mouth and the sugary scent of the treats tempted her, Molly really didn’t want to eat Cora’s baking. “Thanks, but not right now. I’m full from dinner.”
He winked. “All the more for me.”
As she eased out of his arms, he picked up a sugar cookie bell. “These look so good, I’m going to eat more than one.”
