“Cirque De Soleil. Duh.”

Dre’s soft fuck you warms my heart.

I can’t wait to see Rylee’s and Maddox’s faces when they see the show.

Or Dre’s when he realizes I’m not kidding.

Because I know he’s going to find some way to get me back and I can’t wait to see what it is.

One Year Later…

“I am so glad we’re doing something other than Vegas,” Hudson says.

“Or New York,” Trey adds.

“You can’t hate the city that much,” I say.

“We do,” they answer in unison, then look at each other and share a sweet smile.

I guess when you get used to living outside of the city, you don’t want to go back.

“Mexico was a great fucking choice,” Alex says, lifting his sunglasses to wink at us. Then he puts them back down and lays back on the lounge chair, the sun directly on him.

“You’re going to get burnt,” Mack complains.

“That’s okay. I have you to rub aloe all over me afterwards.”

Mack blushes slightly, and shakes his head, ignoring the comment. I don’t know how he puts up with him, but someone has to, I guess.

“The whole thing was a good idea,” Austen says. “Big family vacation? It’s great.”

“Rocket would have loved this,” Trey pouts. “Too bad it’s no pets allowed.”

Hudson turns to give Trey a knowing glare, but he doesn’t say anything.

I smile as I look out at the pool, watching Maddox and Rylee splash around with Amelia and Sean, and Alex’s friend Brit and her three kids. When Alex suggested a family trip, I wasn’t expecting him to invite the kids, but it’s been nice having other kids around our kids’ ages. Rylee is already planning a sleepover with Sarah and Lucy in the hotel rooms. Cameron is in the water with them, too, because Rylee has taken a liking to him. I think she may have a little crush, which is kind of adorable. Not surprising, since he does have that model-like look about him. All the girls stare. Even my little girl, who shouldn’t look at boys for another twenty years.

Maybe thirty.

Okay never.

She needs to stay little forever and ever.

No boys.

Of course, I know that isn’t going to happen.

Maddox is already in middle school, and before I know it, Rylee will be too. Then high school. College. Work. And—Nope. I need to stop. It’s too upsetting.

“Would anyone like another drink?” the waitress, Marla, asks.

She’s designated to our cabana and has been on point with asking if we need drinks right when we do.

“Yes,” we all say.
