“He’s not going to like it, but this is between you and Venom, and I won’t tell a soul, until you’re ready.”

Morwenna rushed toward her mother’s arms and held onto her tightly. “Love you, Mom.”

“I love you too, sweetheart.”

It felt good to hug her mother, and Willow was right. The last thing she should do is run from this. She had to talk with Venom.

“Please, please, I’ll do anything,” the guy said.

Venom didn’t quite catch his name, but he’d been the one beating on a little girl in the trailer park. He was just minding his own business. Actually, scrap that, he was still digging into the drugs that were making its way into freaking Dwellers Point, and that was starting to piss him off. So far, he had no leads.

There had been a hint of a lab, and he was about to go and check it out, which required him to ride near a trailer park. He’d stopped to check his cell phone. In all his years, Venom never reached out for a woman, and he figured when he returned home to find Morwenna not there, she wanted space. He tried to give her that space. But it had been several days.

During that brief two-minute stop, just to check his texts, he happened to hear a feminine scream—a young girl’s scream—and as he did so, he came close to finding this piece of shit, hitting her, and literally trying to force her into his fucking trailer. He didn’t need to do a search to figure out this guy was a piece of shit.

“Why were you trying to force that girl into your trailer?” he asked, holding the lighter to his knife.

After letting the girl go, he told her to run straight back to her mother, while he dealt with this animal. He knocked the guy out, threw him into the guy’s truck, along with his bike, and took off to a private location.

There were always abandoned ranches and old factories, which is where he was now. He was pretty sure this place used to be an old boxing factory, or some shit. He didn’t know the history of the place, nor why it closed down. All he knew was it was a good place to hurt someone.

“I wasn’t going to do anything,” the guy said. He sniffled.

The man already pissed and shit himself, and Venom lined the knife up with the man’s face. The guy was sweating profusely.

“No?”

“No, I swear.”

“Then why were you doing it?” he asked.

He teased the tip of the blade close to the man’s skin. He wasn’t going to set him on fire, but it would be a lot of fun to do so.

“You’re telling me you weren’t going to take her into her trailer and do the kinds of things to her that you should only do to a woman?” Venom asked. “A willing woman?”

The man was tense, and he pressed the blade against his flesh, and the man screamed.

“Yes, I was going to. I was going to teach her to be a good girl, because that is what she wanted me to do. She kept calling my name and she wanted me so I was going to give her what she wanted.”

The blade had cooled down by the time he pressed it against the man’s flesh, but it was enough to get the confession out of him.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Maverick asked.

Venom had called him, asked if it was okay to hurt this man. He’d taken the man’s wallet, but he couldn’t recall the man’s name. There was no point in remembering pieces of shit that were going to be dead soon.

“Do you know who he is?” Venom asked.

“How the fuck should I know every asshole that has gotten on your bad side?”

“He was trying to pull a girl into his trailer. My gut feeling says this man is a pervert. Tell me if I’m right or not.”

Maverick sighed. “Are you for real right now?”

“I’m not joking around. Is this guy a piece of shit, and can I kill him?” His instincts were rarely wrong.

“He’s already been done for ... suspected assault,” Maverick said.
