“I love you too, Storm.”

This was the problem with the divorce, and Morwenna knew it was going to get messy when it came out that she was having sex with Venom. They were not dating. At the moment, it was just sex, although she hated to think of it in terms of just sex.

She finished her coffee and was able to talk to Storm about everything and anything. They talked about the food blog, and she loved that Storm still continued to read the blog and enjoyed some of the recipes she’d tried.

Morwenna learned the club didn’t have any leftover candy, so none of her ideas could be used. She figured the guys would eat it all up. They were known to not leave any piece of candy unfinished. Kind of like beer, candy, and snacks were all at risk the moment they landed in the clubhouse. It was probably the same for all food.

Within no time at all, three hours had passed, and she’d been able to avoid the usual invite to the Thanksgiving party from the club. In the past, she would be there in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. Bolt would be mingling, and she couldn’t help but wonder if the times he’d disappeared and come back looking a little ruffled, he’d been out fucking Star. It didn’t matter anymore. Storm promised her she’d get that divorce, and she was counting on her. She wanted a clean break. They’d been separated long enough, and even though she no longer hated him, the truth was, she was not going to forget. This was not going to be an incident she would brush under the rug.

She gave Storm a hug, kissed her on the cheek, and left the clubhouse to a chorus of “goodbyes,” and “see you laters.” She couldn’t help but smile as she made her way toward her car, only to come face to face with Star.

Morwenna looked at her as she blew out a final puff of smoke and stubbed her cigarette into the snow. Her actions were jerky. She also looked like she’d lost quite a considerable amount of weight. She was not in the mood to talk to this woman. If Star was here, she wondered where the kids were.

“You’re in my way,” Morwenna said.

“Do you think you can just come here, flick your hair, and bat your fucking ugly cow eyes, and everything will be A-okay?” Star asked.

This woman had clearly been taking something.

“I was dropping off food. Where are the kids?” Morwenna asked. She was more interested in the little kiddos anyway.

“Why? You think you can take them away from me? Do you think you’re better than me, is that it?”

“What is your problem?” Morwenna asked.

“You. You’re my problem. He chose me. He wanted my pussy, and he wanted me to have his kids, and you think you can just take them away from me.” Star rushed toward her, but Morwenna stepped out of her way.

“I don’t know what you’re on, but clearly, it is making you delusional.” She just wanted to get into her car, she had no problem with this woman. She wanted nothing to do with her. As far as she was concerned, Star and Bolt could have each other. She was not interested in getting in their way. They had three kids together. They were well suited for each other.

“He’s mine.” Star got to her feet and in the process, her screaming alerted the others to what was happening.

Morwenna sighed, and she looked at Star, as the other woman charged at her. She held her hands out as the woman made contact with her. She was really strong, and Morwenna cried out as she grabbed a large chunk of her hair and pulled.

“He’s mine, do you hear me? He’s all mine, and you’re not going to have him. He is going to want nothing from you.”

Star tried to kick her between the thighs, but clearly, the other woman didn’t realize Morwenna had been taught many things, including how to fight. She pulled the other woman’s hair and used it to slam her into the car, making her breathless. Rather than hit her once again, Morwenna reached for her, intent on helping her up and escorting her to Storm. Instead, Star punched her hard, landing a blow that made Morwenna stumble back.

No one interfered. Those were the rules. Once a fight broke out, the only time someone would interfere is if one of the parties decided to fight dirty.

She was going to have a couple of bruises, as the pain startled her enough for Star to think she could land a few more blows.

Morwenna soon realized she needed to gain the upper ground, and she quickly struck up her fist at Star, forcing the woman to stumble back. She pounced, landing blow after blow, startling the woman, and only when Star was not capable of hurting her again, Morwenna stopped.

It was as she was dragging Star, who was mumbling and grumbling back to the group, and dropping her at Storm’s feet, that Venom and Bolt returned. As did Maverick, and they all stopped and looked at her. She ran a hand beneath her nose and realized she was bleeding.

“Do you think you can deal with her?” Morwenna asked.

She saw the concern on Venom’s face, and there was something else she didn’t quite read. Something she wasn’t sure about.

Rather than stay and question it, she climbed into her car and pulled out of the parking lot, and she was pretty sure she heard applause, which made her feel sick to her stomach.

“It’s Karamazov,” Venom said.

The moment he said the name, several of the guys paused and looked at one another.

“Okay, Venom’s been acting strangely ever since that scientist guy David mentioned them. I don’t know who the fuck they are, but it was enough to make Venom burn that shit to the ground, and put David in a safe house,” Bolt said. “I’m assuming everyone else knows what is going on here?”
