Venom pulled out several bills, sliding them across the counter. “What about now, and if the answer is yes, the club will not be angry at you. You’re doing business, and you didn’t know.”
Steve looked at the tattoo and he nodded. “Yes.”
“Give me the keys,” Venom said. “And during the next twenty minutes, turn off all security camera footage.”
Steve shook. “There isn’t any. They’re the only ones staying in the hotel. Please, this place is all I have, and they paid more than the asking price, and I didn’t question them.”
“You can keep the money,” Venom said. “Leave now.”
Steven placed the keys on the desk, then took off, carrying his tub of popcorn with him.
“He’s scared.”
“Of course he is,” Venom said. “There is not going to be a hotel when we’re finished.
Venom picked up the keys and turned to Gus. “If you’ve got a problem with what is about to go down, you should leave.”
“I’m not going to leave. These animals killed my family. They tried to hurt my wife and my unborn child. They will die. I have no problem killing. I never have.”
Venom was impressed. A little surprised but impressed. He knew Gus could wave his gun around and threaten them, but that was easy.
They walked out of the reception, and he went to the ground floor. He should have known the Karamazov wouldn’t go anywhere high. The windows were all dark, and he stood on one side of the door, while Gus stood on the other. He knocked and used a feminine voice, shouting out, “Room service.”
He waited less than a minute, and a man stepped out. Venom attacked first, slamming his gun into the man’s throat. There were three more men, and he used the first man as a cover, to which he jerked as bullets started to rain down. These men were not prepared for an attack.
His instincts were right. The Karamazov were not prepared for being hunted, and within a matter of minutes, the three men in the room were dead. Within seconds, the men from the other room came, and this time, there were only two, and Venom shot one in the leg, while Gus killed the other. When Gus pointed his gun, about to shoot him in the head, Venom stopped him.
“Are you insane?” Gus asked.
“Less than an hour ago, you thought I wasn’t, and now you think I’m insane.” He shook his head. “We need him alive.”
“Why?” Gus spat at him. “They all should die.”
“And we can’t get information out of dead men,” Venom said, and the one that was alive tried to shoot him, but Venom used the man’s knife, stabbing his hand to the floor. The man screamed. “You’d think they’d be more resistant to pain.” He winced at the sound of his scream, got to his feet, turned on the light, and that was when he saw the Karamazov in business.
The men had everything planned. There were pictures of all the Evil Dwellers MC, including pictures of Gus, Willow, and Morwenna. There were daily plans, and it seemed Morwenna didn’t stick to a strict plan. None of them did, but going into lockdown had also made them easy targets. The whole wall was filled with images and notes on the best weapons to use. They’d been watched for weeks, as there were pictures of him and Morwenna.
“This is what you guys do? Blend in, make it look like you’re part of the scenery, and then you strike.”
“Fuck you,” he said.
Venom aimed his gun and shot the man in the leg. “You can’t take pain, and I can make this incredibly painful for you. I can keep shooting and let you bleed out.” With each word spoken he saw the fear slide into the man’s eyes. He’d witnessed it multiple times during his life. It was a look he knew well. Venom crouched on the ground and reached out, pressing his hand against one of the wounds he made. This made the man scream, his head tilting back, crying. He wasn’t doing well.
“They’re going to fucking kill you,” he said. “They’re going to tear you apart.”
“What? The men who decided to go and use a club whore to help them? You think they’ve got Bolt? Morwenna?” Venom asked.
He’d lightened his touch on the man, and clearly, he wasn’t expecting that as an answer. Venom turned to look toward Gus. “What was it, nine, or twelve men we killed tonight?”
“I think closer to twelve, possibly even more if you account for the fuckers in this room,” Gus said.
Venom returned his attention to the man before him, and he was pale. “So, you see, you’re used to being in charge. You’re used to scaring all people that dare to use your name.” He tutted. “You weren’t expecting me, were you? For you, there is only one ending.”
He held his gun in front of him, not pointing it at him, just allowing him to see how his future was going to play out. The man’s lip started to quiver, and he pissed himself. Venom didn’t know what it was about him and people pissing themselves, but they seemed to do it all the freaking time, and it was starting to get a bit annoying.
He stayed crouched in his position, refusing to back down. These men caused him to lose Morwenna. He tried to protect her, but the past few weeks had been a fucking nightmare, and right now, he was pissed off with the man he was looking at. It was taking every ounce of restraint to not kill the bastard.
Gus didn’t even realize how easy it would be to take the gun, aim, and fire. He’d gladly do it. Just kill them all.
