They stripped off their clothes so fast, I heard a seam or two rip and then started for the bed. “Wait.” My cheeks burned, but it had to be said. “Can you stay there, so I can get a good look at you?”

“Of course.” Birch even did a turn. “Good?”

“Better than good. Amazing.” Maybe there was something to this Fate stuff because I didn’t know how else to explain someone as ordinary as me ending up with the two hottest guys in town. And not just hot. Good and kind and considerate of me and my feelings. I held up my arms and reached for them. “Please.”

They sat on either side of me and enfolded me in their arms. I’d sat this way with Cypress many times before making love, but I’d always had one side that was a little cold. As if something had been missing that now was in place. With them on both sides of me, I’d never be cold again. They laid me back and took turns kissing my lips and letting theirs wander over my body. Every cell came to life under their touch. I squirmed, needing, wanting… “Please,” I begged again. “I can’t wait. I burn for you both.”

Sounded very romance heroine to my ears, but now I knew why those heroines said that so often. I did burn. My skin flamed, my nipples stood up in stiff peaks, and between my legs was wetter than I’d ever experienced. Cypress was kissing me when I felt Birch gently part my legs and bend to place a kiss between them. He used his thumbs to part my folds and licked and sucked me into a fast and frantic orgasm.

“I didn’t want to leave you hanging, mate, and I am not sure how long I’ll be able to last. I’ve waited for you for so long.”

I understood. Until he’d shown up, I hadn’t recognized what we needed, Cypress and I, but I did now. As I sank back, panting, Birch drove inside me. He’d wanted me to be sure to come, had been afraid he wouldn’t be able to make me come like this, but with a shout, I proved him wrong, muscles flexing around his cock and driving him over the edge with me.

He knotted, something only Cypress had ever done with me before, and then bent and sank sharp fangs into my neck on the side opposite Cypress’ mark. I loved the symmetry of it all, and came again as he slipped out of me to be replaced by my first mate.

How long could they do this?

As it turned out, more than twice, and lying there afterward, between them, I said, “If this is what every night will be like, I’m going to need to quit my job.”

They laughed and reassured me it wouldn’t be both of them multiple times…at least not every night. “Remember,” Cypress said. “You can always tell us no.”

Yeah. Like that was going to happen.

Spent, we cuddled and talked and got to know one another better, and finally fell asleep. Even if it meant I did have to sell my business, it might be worth it to die of pleasure over and over.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Cypress

I woke up early, as I always did, and snuck out of bed. A twinge of weirdness caught my chest as I looked at my wife, her face against Birch’s heart. A mark on the opposite side of her neck from mine.

It didn’t last more than a second. Last night had been incredible. We shared her. Mated her. Marked her as ours.

I’d been happy with Zephyr all to myself but this…our life clicked into place in a way I didn’t realize it was disjointed. Nothing was missing from our lives before, but so much had been added in a night.

I had my best friend back. And my mate had another to love.

“Hey,” Zephyr said, turning over. She always woke up when I did but fell back to sleep. “Everything okay?”

I nodded and walked back to the bed to kiss her lips. Lips that were not only mine now. And contrary to human social norms, that made me happy. “I’m fine but starving. I’m going to make breakfast for the pack. Our little pack. Go back to sleep.”

She did. This time turning over not to an empty side of the bed but to Birch, who, in his sleep reached for her and tucked her into his hold without even opening an eye.

Downstairs, after a shower, I whipped up something easy but filling. Eggs with peppers and onions. I sliced and toasted what was left of the cheddar sourdough. Yogurt bowls with local granola that my mate always kept stocked. Coffee. A pot this time, since there were three instead of two.

Upstairs, I heard the shower come on and the undeniable giggle of my mate. She and Birch were sharing their first morning together, and my wolf loved it. The giggle meant she was happy, and her joy was all that mattered. I put on some music and gave them their privacy. Their love and devotion were new.

Zephyr and I had gone on our honeymoon to the Bahamas, a wedding gift from her parents. We didn’t leave our hotel room for the first three days, even though we’d been mated and marked for a while.

It was one of the best times of my life, and I was grateful for the years it was us two against the world.

Footsteps on the stairs told me they were coming down and I didn’t have to brace for awkwardness. There wouldn’t be any.

And if there was, we would fix it. It would be temporary.

“Good morning.” Zephyr lingered by the doorway, leaning on the frame. Birch came down behind her and nodded at me. No one spoke. The weirdness began to slip in, but no way in hell I was allowing that. Not in this house.

“Good morning, mate. Birch. I made breakfast. I’m sure we’re all hungry.”
