What the hell is that annoying noise? I just want to go back to sleep. My body hurts so bad. I struggle to open my eyes and I feel like I can barely open them when I do open them. I look around the room as much as my head will allow me without much pain and I am currently alone. Everything starts to come back to me and I realize where I am and what has happened to me. I don’t know how I am going to get word to anyone that I am here if my body feels the way that it does.

The door opens and I see Dr. Mercer walks in. What the hell? He looks up and sees that my eyes are open and he sighs in relief and looks at the door before closing it.

“Thank fuck, Liza.”

“Wha-what is going on?” I stutter out. “Why are you here?” My voice sounds wrong and my throat hurts when I speak.

“Don’t talk too much, that little Lorenzo fuck did a number on your throat. Along with the rest of you.”

“Are you the doctor that was at the place they were keeping me?”

He looks down and when he looks up he almost looks ashamed.

“Yes, I owe them a lot of money. I had issues gambling years back, part of why my wife and I divorced. But let’s not talk about that right now. I got them to bring you here so that I could get word to someone to let your baby’s father know where you were. Plus you are in bad shape. I would have never been able to treat you at their home.”

“Where is Walker?”

“Vittorio has him out in the cafeteria. Another one of my ideas, I am hoping someone sees your boy and reports back to someone.”

“Thank you, I guess.”

“I have a lot to tell you, some of it isn’t going to be great. I want to tell you some of it before he gets back because I do not want him to know and I don’t think you do either.”

“How bad is it?”

“Liza, did you know you were pregnant?”

My heart rate picks up, I try to move my hand to my belly, but when I look down it is in a cast. Declan moves towards the bed and sits down in the chair next to me.

“I need you to breathe and calm down, the baby is fine. We are going to have to do more tests, but I have been checking your levels and you are still pregnant. We are going to need to do an ultrasound, but I need to get him to leave. I do not want him to know you are pregnant. I’m afraid of what he or any member of his family will do to you. It’s not his baby, right?”

“No. It’s Dragon’s.”

He nods and I almost feel bad because Declan and I had been seeing each other, but we were never anything really serious. I was honestly just trying to make myself feel like I could have someone normal in my life and not another biker after everything that happened.

“Okay, well I will try and figure all that out for you, try not to worry. It will be alright, if that baby is anything like you it is a fighter. From what I can see not a lot of damage was done to your abdomen anyway. But it is always better to be safe than sorry. You have a concussion, a broken cheek bone, both of your eyes are swollen. It does appear that at some point you attempted to fight back and that is when he broke your wrist. He did some damage to your throat, it looks like he choked you a few times. So you have some extensive bruising and that is why it hurts to speak.”

I nod my head, “Does Chaos know I am here?”

He looks at me, “Peyton comes in shortly. I plan on having her run an errand up here. Hopefully she will see either Walker or you and get word to them. I would do more, but the man has also threatened my family. But I promise you, I will not let them take you from here. I will make sure your family gets you.”

“Thank you.”

“I’m going to give you some pain medicine that is alright for the baby.”

I nod my head and I regret it almost immediately because it hurts so much.

“I will find a time to get an ultrasound done to look at the baby and how far along you are.”

With that he gets up and walks out the door.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Dragon

We have been searching through all these homes for what feels like days, but has been hours. It turns out that this man has several homes around Virginia and North Carolina. So do his kids. They all have homes in Briarfield which gives me some sort of hope that that is where they are. We just have to figure out which home they would bring Walker and Liza to.

“So do we think that maybe he brought them to one of his son’s places? Or would we say this? I mean there is also the father’s house. We need to find a way to look over these places with surveillance and see what house has the most activity. My guess is that whatever house has the most people surrounding it right now would be where they currently are.” Echo says.
