Okay, I kind of liked that.

When he gets to my bedroom, he opens the door, closing it behind him with his foot.

He all but throws me onto the bed. “Is that true? You have your nipples pierced? That doesn’t sound like something a good Bratva princess would do.”

“It was a small act of rebellion.” I shrug, covering my chest with my hands. “And I wasn’t done partying. I want to go back down there.”

“No, you aren’t going back down. You aren’t kissing anyone else. And you sure as fuck aren’t showing the whole fucking clubhouse your tits,” he growls, standing over the bed with his arms crossed.

“And who are you to tell me what to do? And if you say ‘my wife’…” I imitate his deep voice. “…I’m going to fucking scream! You keep reminding me our marriage is only on paper, so let’s draw that line then. You don’t get to carry me around and tell me what to do, and you sure as hell don’t get to see my nipples!”

He watches me with an expression I can’t decipher for a moment, before his face goes blank. His voice is devoid of any warmth when he speaks. “I can go into the pole room any time if I want to see some fucking nipples, princess.” And then he leaves, my door slamming shut with a final bang.

I wait a few minutes, then head back downstairs.

The night isn’t over for me just yet.

The women cheer when they see me reappear. Lore’s eyebrows are almost at his hairline, and Angel studies me with a thoughtful expression.

“Where did Suit go?” Xanthe asks, scanning the room.

“No idea,” I reply, shrugging.

She nods her head at me in approval. “Good on you. The sperm swims to the egg. Never the other way around. Never chase a man.”

“Can’t chase someone who doesn’t want to be caught,” I mutter, and then glance toward the bar. “I need another drink.”

I don’t see Suit for the rest of the night, and his biker brothers and their women all take care of me.

Genuine friendships and no judgment are all I’ve ever wanted.

And I have the best time ever.

SUIT

“I thought everyone said Elena was meant to be the easier sister,” I mutter to Prez, who barks out a laugh. All I’ve been hearing this morning is about all the shit Elena got up to after I thought I put her to bed. Apparently, she went back down to the bar and partied until five this morning, all the while I was in bed.

Alone.

What the hell is wrong with me?

The club has taken her under its wing. And while I’m glad the women have done that, the men seem to be taking her side too.

“So did you see her nipple piercings or not?” Lore asks because he clearly has a one-track mind. If he mentions my wife’s nipples again, I’m going to punch him right in the face.

“No,” I grumble.

“You’re a fucking idiot,” Lore rumbles, shaking his head. “Aren’t you meant to be one of the smartest men here, a fancy lawyer?”

“He’s book smart but lacks some emotional IQ.” Bones smirks, pulling Meredith down onto his lap when she steps into the kitchen. “I thought you’d sleep all morning with how much you drank last night.”

“My head does hurt a little,” she admits, sighing when Bones kisses her neck.

She turns her hazel eyes to me and purses her lips. “You know, Suit…”

“Ah fuck, here we go,” I mutter, sitting back in my chair.

“I thought that of all the men, when something good found you, you’d be the one to hold on to it. Instead, you’re messing it up,” she says, frowning. “Elena is a lovely woman. I think she could make you really happy, and you deserve that. But if you don’t want her, that’s fine, but let someone else have her then.”
