No response.
He lingered for a moment, watching him, a faint smile tugging at his lips. Then he leaned down, pressed a kiss to his back, and went to get dressed.
Two hours later, Mano stirred awake.
Ody was beside him, lying on his side, scrolling through his phone.
“Mmm…” Mano groaned.
Ody turned, a smile spreading across his face. “My sleepyhead’s awake?” He kissed his cheek. “Did you get some rest?”
“Mmm,” Mano murmured, already turning away again.
“I talked to Steve and Chris.”
“And?”
“Chris’s sister had a trip booked to Mykonos with her boyfriend, but they fought. He backed out last minute.”
Mano stayed quiet, his face turned away.
“So she gave the tickets to Chris. Four nights. For two people.”
“Okay…”
“He and Steve thought about going, but just the two of them sounded lame, so they asked if we wanted in. They also invited some of the guys from basketball.”
“Wait… Mykonos?” Mano asked, turning toward him, his voice still husky.
“Yeah.”
“Another vacation?”
Ody laughed. “You might be the only person on earth who’s ever said that like it’s a problem.”
“When is it?” Mano shifted up on his elbows.
“August 13th to 17th.”
Mano groaned and dropped back onto the mattress. “Right in the middle of peak season. It’s going to be chaos.”
“Come on, it’ll be fun,” Ody said. “We’ll get a double room.”
“What about Anna?”
Ody’s smile faded. He didn’t answer right away, his gaze dropping. “We’re not on good terms.”
Mano frowned. “Since when?”
He exhaled, jaw tightening. “Things have been weird between us since Serifos. After I pushed her away. And then she was crying in my arms, and I couldn’t even bring myself to hold her.”
Mano stayed quiet.
“She knows something’s off,” Ody added. “She’s not stupid. She can tell I’ve changed.”
Silence settled between them.
Ody lifted his gaze, forcing a lighter tone. “The trip will be fun. You’ll see.”
