“I just looked up the location for that plane,” Marnie said.

“Where is it?” Tru asked.

“It left Exuma half an hour after we snuck out.”

“Headed where?” Tru asked.

Mark impulsively looked to the sky, searching for any aircraft lights.

“Doesn’t say.” Marnie looked at them. “They could be anywhere.”

Eighty minutes later, when Chub Cay was visible on the horizon, Marnie came up from the cabin.

“No word on the plane,” she said.

“It could have been Safid leaving the party,” Lightman said.

“Do you really think that?” Tru asked.

“Well, they’re not going to try to kill us when the authorities are after me,” Lightman said.

“They’re an insurance policy,” Mark said.

“The Logician’s being boarded right now,” Marnie told them.

“Damn it, that was fast,” Lightman muttered.

“Do you think they were waiting?” Mark asked.

“Maybe Morris told them the red notice was coming through, but it could also just be luck,” Lightman guessed.

“If they search the boat and realize you’re not there, what will they do?”

Lightman lowered the night-vision goggles he’d been using to scan the ocean and thought it over.

“This is high level. It means Morris has the cooperation of the Bahamian government, as well as whatever French officials he has been able to pay off. And that means they’ll have everybody looking for us,” Lightman explained.

Mark realized every minute counted. “What are we going to need to do to get refueled at Chub Cay?”

“We’re going to want to call them ahead of time so they can be ready for us,” Tru replied.

“And how does that usually work?” Mark asked.

“We tell them the name of the vessel, what time we’re due in, and they meet us at the dock, ready to help us fuel,” Tru said.

“Okay, so you or I make the call, and we tell them we’re a different boat,” Mark suggested.

“We need to be a little bit more clever than that,” Tru countered.

“What do you mean?” Mark asked.

“The harbormasters have a pretty good idea who’s out on the water. People talk,” Lightman noted.

“Okay, do we know the names of any other boats like this right now that might be in Nassau?” Mark asked.

“I’d have to go through the company portal to look that up,” Lightman replied.
