“Get a room!” Sadi yells.
I pull back and look toward Sadi and see… “Shit.”
“What?” Jade asks, turning around.
Heather lifts up a hand and waves. “Well, that’s my ex.”
“I want to meet her.”
“Why?” I ask
“I don’t know, but she’s smiling at me now.”
I turn around and see her do just that. “Okay, I guess. It’s just, odd.”
Jade smiles as she steps back, “Why?”
“I wouldn’t want to meet anyone you dated.”
“You’re in luck.” She winks. “You’re the first.”
“And last,” I whisper.
She looked back at him and smiled as they walked over to her.
“Uh Heather, this is Jade. Jade, Heather.”
“Nice to meet you, Heather. You’re beautiful.” Jade smiles.
“Well, nice to meet you, Jade. You are as well. So, you’re Tommy’s girlfriend?”
“I am.”
“I’m his ex. I hope that this isn’t uncomfortable for you.”
Jade shakes her head. “Oddly, it’s not.”
“Well, I wish you both happiness. Be good to him, he’s a great guy.” Heather hugs Jade.
“Check that out,” Lucas says as the next song starts. “Jade isn’t even trying to punch her in the eye.”
Tessa steps back and looks at him. “Probably because she didn’t attack her.”
“I know, baby. I’m just joking.”
Tessa hiccups, then her face changes. “I don’t feel well.”
Lucas immediately takes her hand. “Let’s get out of here.”
He starts toward the car with her.
“Hey, Tommy, we’re going to head back to the car.”
Before I can answer, Sadi calls after them. “Oh, Tessa, he likes it in the front seat... with me on his lap!”
Tessa turns around. “That won’t be happening. I’m not on birth control yet, Sadi. Don’t want to take any chances.” She flips Sadi off.
Lucas's jaw drops. “Tessa, don’t be a bitch.”
