“That’s right, baby. Your father, uncles and me.”

Christian frowned. “When did we apply?”

“We didn’t,” I said, watching Dad.

“I applied on behalf of everyone.”

“How?” Xander asked.

“I made an audition video explaining that I’m a beloved comedian with five intelligent, successful sons.”

The humor left my brothers’ expressions.

“All five?” Christian asked.

Dad’s smile softened. “All five.”

“You included Titan and Jeremiah?” I asked.

“They’re part of this family.”

“Do they know that you submitted their names?” Xander asked.

“Not yet.”

Mom stared at him from across the table. “Ron.”

“I just received the call today. I’m going to speak to them.”

“And if they don’t want to do it?” Christian asked.

“They will.”

The certainty in Dad’s voice didn’t reach his eyes. Family Feud was only an excuse. He wanted all his sons together long enough to laugh, compete, and create one memory that didn’t begin with his mistakes. I glanced at Christian and Xander and could tell that they had reached the same conclusion.

“Ask them,” I said. “If Titan and Jeremiah agree, I’ll do it.”

Xander nodded. “So will I.”

Christian leaned back in his chair. “If they’re both willing, count me in.”

Relief moved across Dad’s face before his stage smile returned.

“That’s my boys. The Valentines are about to take over television.”

“We gave you conditions,” Christian reminded him.

“And I plan to meet them.”

Dad began assigning imaginary roles until everyone was laughing again. Frankie didn’t ask questions about the brothers who weren’t there. She covered my hand beneath the table and gave it a gentle squeeze. I turned my palm over and threaded our fingers together.

She leaned closer. “Your father really wants this.”

“He wants us together.”

“I hope he gets it.”

“So do I.”
