Where the hell had the last twelve hours gone?

“Why are you wearing just your bra and panties?” Ava asked.

I groaned.

“What? Could he not get it up?” Ava asked, then gave me a sympathetic look. “Don’t take it personally. It happens sometimes when guys drink too much.”

I shook my head. “No, that’s not it.”

“So, he did get it up?” Mary Ellen asked.

“I have no idea,” I said. “I don’t remember.”

Oh my God. Did I have sex with him?

Was that why I was wearing my bra and panties? But that didn’t make sense. This wasn’t a Hollywood movie where the woman has sex in her bra. Who wears their bra while having sex? Besides, I wouldn’t have my panties on. Then again, I was pretty sure I’d worn a nude-colored bra last night, so why was I wearing my black one now?

Oh, God. Maybe we did have sex, and in my drunken state, I’d put a different bra on. It made no sense, but drunks weren’t usually known for acting logically.

“You don’t remember.” Mary Ellen’s bottom lip stuck out. “Likely story.”

“It’s true. I remember falling asleep in his truck and that’s it.” Another memory hit me like a gut punch. “But I do remember asking him if he could read minds, and I said something about us becoming X-Men.”

“You did what?” Ava asked in confusion.

“Why would you do that?” Mary Ellen demanded, realizing the implications her sister hadn’t.

Did I tell Boone I could see visions of the future? Relief flooded through me. He’d asked what my superpower would be, and he wouldn’t have done that if I’d told him. Right?

But what happened after I fell asleep in his truck?

The coffee maker started puffing steam as I got up and headed for my bedroom to look for clues. Ava and Mary Ellen followed.

A glass of water sat on the nightstand along with a bottle of ibuprofen. Only one side of the bed looked slept in. The other was still made.

“We didn’t sleep together,” I said in relief. “Only one side is disturbed.

“You could have had sex on the sofa,” Ava said.

“Or the kitchen table,” Mary Ellen volunteered.

“Or the kitchen counter.”

“Or against the door.”

Ava pointed at her sister. “Or against the wall.” She released a little moan. “That’s hot.”

Mary Ellen nodded.

They were right. We could have had sex somewhere else. I headed to bathroom, looking for evidence of a condom. Instead, I found my dress in the bathtub, soaking wet.

“Maybe you had shower sex,” Ava said, looking over my shoulder.

I reached in and picked up my dress. I noticed the stain down the front just as the smell hit me.

“Nope,” Mary Ellen said, backing out of the bathroom. “I’m all too familiar with the smell of vomit.” She made a retching sound and headed to the living room.

Ava left as I dropped the dress back in the tub and noticed my nude bra had been underneath the dress. What in the hell had happened last night?
