I kissed her and told her what I wanted, how she made me feel, until I felt her completely relax.
When I slid into her, I knew her desires had built up as much as mine had. Her legs wrapped around my hips, holding me to her, swaying with each move I made.
Her nails scraped my skin. Her moans mixed with my own.
I was feeling so much I doubted that I could last much longer. I wanted to feel her convulse around me. I needed it.
I deepened the kiss, and the moment I felt her release, I followed, pouring everything that had been locked up deep inside me into her. Giving her more than I had given anyone else before.
I knew that whatever she did with it, I would be okay just having felt this much once in my life.
I collapsed, breathing heavily against her skin. Her arms wrapped around me, holding me, as our hearts synced and slowed, cooling our bodies until I felt her shiver.
“You’re cold.” I leaned up so that I could look down at her.
I realized that it mattered to me that she didn’t feel awkward now.
Smiling, I kissed her until I felt her sigh. At that moment, my stomach let out a very loud growl, reminding me that I had skipped dinner and that was the main reason she’d come into the office in the first place.
“Your dinner is probably cold,” she said with a chuckle. “I can heat it up for you?”
I nodded and stood up, letting her get up and quickly put on her clothes as I pulled my own on.
When she reached to take the tray, I touched her arm, only then remembering the bruises my cousin had given her.
“I’ve got this,” I told her. She nodded and allowed me to carry the tray back into the kitchen.
While she heated the food up again, I watched her and could tell she was feeling uneasy around me.
Did she expect me to want sex all the time now? Did she believe we should marry? I frowned at that thought.
I knew she’d grown up with religion embedded into every aspect of her life. From what I could tell, she wasn’t religious any longer.
“What now?” she asked me when she set the plate of hot food in front of me.
“Now?” I asked, feeling my gut twist.
“I mean, what will you do to Phillip?” she asked, leaning on the counter.
I instantly relaxed. Okay, so maybe she wasn’t expecting a proposal. At least not now.
“Now,” I said, taking a bite of the meal, “I kill my cousin.”
She frowned and straightened. “No, you can’t.”
“I’m only joking,” I said with a sigh. “What I can do is have my grandfather bar him from his home and from being alone with you again.”
She leaned on the counter again and nodded. “I think that’s for the best.”
I nodded in agreement. “He’s an ass. They both are. I don’t really remember when I realized that myself. Hell, I was probably an ass most of my youth too.” I took another bite of the food. My gut twisted when I remembered just when that had all changed. When Sherry had died.
“You loved your sister,” Chloe said, touching my hand. “She loved you.”
“Did you have siblings?” I asked.
She sighed and placed her chin in her hands. “A dozen or more.”
“Right,” I sighed. “Were you close to any of them?”
