“Maggie.” Her name was like silk. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep control. How much of the animal, the beast inside him, he could hold at bay.

The more she moved and pleased him, the more that control slipped.

“Stop,” he growled out when she shifted slightly.

She glanced up at him with a wicked smile. “Do you yield?”

“Hell yes,” he growled. “You win.”

“Say it,” she demanded.

He knew instantly what she wanted. What she needed to hear.

Hooking his hands under her arms, he lifted her to her feet, then higher until they were eye to eye.

“Margaret Elizabeth Jackson, I love you,” he said softly. Then he pulled her into his arms as he backed them towards the bed and she wrapped her legs around his hips.

“You’re mine,” she said as he laid her down on the bedspread.

“Always,” he agreed, covering her body with his.

When he slipped inside her, she hooked her legs around him, and he knew she wasn’t thinking of what had happened the week before. He knew that she understood there was nothing he would ever do to make her flash back to that night.

“I love you, Richard Johnathan Graham,” she said with a laugh as she held onto him.

“Maggie,” he groaned as he started to move, just before he covered her lips with his.

Chapter Fifteen

While Rick’s arms were still wrapped around her and their bodies had just cooled, she asked.

“What happens now?”

He shifted slightly until he could look at her.

“What do you want to happen now?” he asked.

She thought about it before answering. “I want to finish helping Becca open the bakery, then once she feels comfortable enough, I want to head back to Fairplay.” She waited a heartbeat. “You?”

“Clay and my father have been holding down the fort for me until I return to the clinic. I’ve been researching home plans so I can start building a place of my own on my land.” He shifted slightly and almost fell off the bed as he grabbed his laptop from the bedside table. Then he shifted them until they were sitting up.

She waited while he opened his laptop and showed her the screen.

“I’d like your help in picking the best floor plan.” He set the laptop on her lap.

She laughed. “I’m still naked.”

He shrugged. “We both are, but that’s okay. I have my camera blocked.” He motioned to the little plastic device he’d placed over his laptop’s camera. “No one will know except me,” he added with a smile.

For the next hour, she totally lost herself in the images of the dozen home designs he had chosen.

“Which one is your favorite?” she asked him.

“I like them all, that’s the problem. That’s why I need your help.” He snuggled next to her.

She narrowed it down to three plans that she liked the most but was too tired to pick her favorite, so she shut his laptop and set it on the nightstand.

“I’ll look at them again tomorrow.” She settled against his chest. “When will you need to know?”
