She smiled up at him. “Thank you. That helps.” Then she leaned up on her toes and kissed him.
“I know it’s probably bad timing, but I’ve never had sex in a shower before.” She ran her hands over him.
He smiled and nudged her back against the tile wall. “I’d be very happy to show you the ropes.” He wiggled his eyebrows and had her laughing.
Then he kissed her and the sounds of her laughter turned into soft moans. He ran his hands over her wet skin.
Her fingers tightened in his wet hair as he took the kiss deeper, letting all of the feelings he had for her build up and pour out when he touched her.
She was everything he wanted. Everything he’d hoped for.
This. This was what happiness was. He wanted to show her everything that he felt.
He lifted her up slightly and held her against the tile wall. He hoisted her leg up over his hip so he could give her more pleasure. When he dipped his fingers into her, just watching her explode with pleasure was reward enough.
Then she reached for him and all he could think about was being inside her. He was about to do just that when he remembered he hadn’t brought a condom into the shower.
Shutting off the water, he lifted Harper into his arms and carried her out of the shower. When he almost slipped on the wet tile, he decided they’d gone far enough. He set her down on the countertop and grabbed a condom from his bathroom drawer before stepping between her legs.
When he finally slipped inside her, he couldn’t hold back any longer and let his demands fully take over. His fingers dug into her skin. His kisses were deeper than before.
He knew he wasn’t as gentle as he should be, but this was primal. This was the need to feel alive. The need to take what he needed as much as give her what she wanted.
The moment he felt her convulse around him, he shouted with his own release and felt his entire body go numb.
“Are you okay?” Harper asked softly next to his ear.
“Hm,” he groaned, still holding himself inside her.
Harper chuckled softly. “I know we ate a while ago, but I’m hungry again.”
He leaned back and smiled at her as his own stomach responded at the thought of food.
“Yeah, me too.” He smiled “Are you okay now?”
She nodded then leaned up and kissed him. “Much better now.”
“I’ll get you those sweats.” He wrapped a towel around his waist as he headed towards his bedroom.
Half an hour later, Harper sat at his bar top and watched him cook grilled cheese and turkey sandwiches. He was heating up a can of potato soup while she sipped a mug of hot chocolate.
“I have some frozen cookie dough my aunt stocks in my freezer. I could throw some in the oven for later?” he suggested while he flipped the sandwich.
“Sounds great. I’ll get it.” She walked into the laundry room and came back with a tub of pre-made, pre-cut, frozen cookie dough. “This is amazing. Everything in your freezer is labeled.”
He smiled. “I got a labeler for Christmas. And I was bored one night.”
“Your aunt made all of this?” she asked when she opened the tub of small round cookie dough pieces.
“Yeah, she keeps me stocked with all the sweets.” He chuckled. “Kate calls Becca her sugar dealer.”
Harper laughed as she turned on his oven. “Cookie sheets?”
He motioned to the thin cupboard next to his oven. “Pan spray is there.” He pointed at another cupboard.
It was nice, moving around the kitchen with Harper. After she slid the loaded cookie sheet into the oven, he handed her a plate and a bowl and they headed to the table to eat.
Blue sat next to him and begged while Lucy lay down on the dog bed in the living room.
