Ayden looked at me. “I like that one of your friends has manners. Hey, Logan, what can I get you?”

Blaise poked Ayden. “Hey, asshole, nice to see you, too.”

“Get me the chicken Caesar salad,” I told Ayden, not even bothering to ask for a menu.

“What do you want?” Ayden prodded his brother.

Blaise was staring up at the TV above the bar, catching whatever the talking heads on the hockey network were spotting off. “You know what I want. Hey, is Lily still here?”

My ears perked up at her name. I couldn’t get Lily out of my head. There was something about her that called to me. Despite Blaise's warning to leave her alone, my sex-deprived brain couldn’t stop imagining her in inappropriate scenarios.

Christ, I needed to get laid next time we were on the road.

“Yeah, why? Don’t bother her. I need her to help me figure out how Dad does expense reports,” Ayden said.

“Tell her I need to ask her something,” Blaise explained.

Ayden rolled his eyes and walked off into the back.

“Why’s Lily here?” I asked.

“Oh, I told Dad to hire her to do his books.”

“Oh.”

Blaise stared down at his phone with a scowl across his face. He wouldn’t admit it, but he was a ball of nerves while his pregnant fiancée was away.

“Are you worried about V traveling?” I asked.

Blaise nodded. “She’s still not eating a lot. I don’t like it. Didn’t want her to go to the convention, but it’s great networking and to build up her client list.”

“She’ll be fine, bro.”

He rubbed a hand down his face. “I know it’s just…our first baby. I hate her not being next to me. I didn’t expect us to get pregnant so soon, but I don’t regret it. Can’t wait to have a family with her.”

“When are you gonna get married?” I asked.

Ayden dropped off water for us and went back behind the bar. It was the middle of the afternoon, so it wasn’t that crowded at the bar yet.

Blaise rolled his eyes. “My family’s making a huge deal about it. Starting to understand why my brother Brendan had a courthouse wedding.”

“You could do that,” I offered.

He shook his head, and I smiled when I saw the dopey look on his face. “Nah. I want to give her the whole big thing. Her ex was a colossal douche and left her a week before their wedding. I want to pull out all the stops for her. But after the baby comes.”

I nodded. That made sense.

“Hey,” a familiar feminine voice greeted us.

I lifted my head up and saw Lily standing in front of our table. She wore a charcoal grey pantsuit with a purple blouse underneath, her hair and makeup flawless.

Blaise smiled at her. “How was the interview?”

She blanched. “Don’t want to talk about it. What’s up?”

“What are you doing tomorrow?” he asked.

“Nothing. Seth has Rosie, so I’ll going to do nothing and—”
