“Oh. I should go get Rosie from Veronica and Blaise’s then.”

He turned around, leaned over, and kissed my forehead. “Stay as long as you like. I asked Mari to do it.”

“No, I should go.”

He got out of the bed and went to his dresser to pull out clothes to wear. I wasn’t sure what morning skate was, but I was pretty sure he had a game tonight. I wasn’t sure what that all entailed. We talked little about hockey when we were together.

“Stay in my comfy bed if you want.”

“Logan?”

“Yeah, princess?”

I grinned at the nickname. “Thanks for last night. I had a lot of fun.”

He grinned back at me. “Me too. I can’t believe you kicked my ass.”

“Are you sure you didn’t let me win?”

He shook his head. “A little at first, and then you hit me with that combo move and KO’d me.”

“Ha! That’s a classic move. I couldn’t believe you didn’t see it coming.”

I shamelessly watched him get dressed. He came back around to my side of the bed and kissed me again. “Seriously, stay.”

“I better get up. I have to go to Manayunk today for a client.”

“Whatever you want, princess. I’ll be back later.”

I flopped back on the bed and watched his cute butt leave. Logan was so hot that it surprised me he was as big of a nerd as I was. I should have left with him, but he must have tired me out last night because I fell back asleep.

When I woke up again, it was to the sound of the front door opening and two yelling little kids.

A knock sounded on the closed bedroom door. “You decent?” my sister’s voice asked through the wood.

“Yeah!” I called back, and before I could ask her why, the door flung open, and two pairs of tiny feet ran into the room. Liam crawled on the bed, cuddling up against my side, while Rosie stood next to me with her arms up.

“Up? Mommy up?” she asked.

I pulled her up into the bed with me and gave her a kiss. “Hi, baby. Did you have fun at Aunt V’s and Uncle Blaise’s?”

“Da-da?” she asked.

“Not here, baby. Give Mommy a kiss?”

She gave me a wet, sloppy kiss and giggled when I tickled her little belly.

“Lily! Lily! Guess what?” Liam asked me excitedly.

I held Rosie to my chest on one side while he bounced around the bed on my other. I gave him a patient smile. “What’s up, bud?”

He gave me a conspiratorial look. “Uncle Blaise and Aunt V are having a baby,” he whispered and then put a finger to his lips. “But it’s a secret.”

I mimed zipping my lips. “I’ll keep that a secret. You better too, okay, bud?”

“Okay!” he said, and then he leaned his head on the other side of my chest. I ran a hand through his hair and looked up to see my sister leaning against the bedroom door with her phone out.

“Aw, so cute! I’ll send that one to Logan,” Mari told me. “Come on, kids, and help me with breakfast.”
