She changed into a pair of leggings that hugged the gorgeous curves of her ass and a soft-looking sweater before she entered the closet. She fingered the navy blue suit that was my go-to. “I like this one. It brings out your eyes. Plus, you look sexy in it.”

I tipped her head up to me and kissed her. I wasn’t sure why I did it. I shouldn’t have. I shouldn’t have let her stay over last night or had the kids sleep between us. I was blurring the lines of our casual agreement, but I couldn’t help myself.

Her hands snaked into my hair as we deepened the kiss. Her lips on mine felt perfect, like her lush mouth had been made for kissing.

I pulled away and pressed my forehead against hers. “I’m sorry, I have to go.”

“I know.”

“How bad is it if I tell you I’ll miss you?”

A surprised smile spread across her face. “You will?”

“Of course, princess. I can’t take my console. Who else will game with me?”

She let out a light-hearted laugh. “Nobody. I’m your gamer girl.”

I grinned. “Damn right.”

I turned around and dressed in my suit, pretending I didn’t notice her watching me. I opened the drawer in the center of the room where I kept my ties and cufflinks. “Which one?” I asked.

“Doesn’t Liam always pick?”

“He does, but help me narrow it down.”

She peered into the drawer, and I grinned when she picked the Pac-Man one.

“That’s gimmicky!” I teased.

“You asked.”

I picked up that tie and a boring solid colored one, and we walked out of the bedroom. We found Mari with the kids playing on the living room floor. I bent down in front of Liam. “Which one, bud?”

He pointed at Pac-Man. “This one!”

“Okay, bud.”

“THIS!” Rosie imitated and pointed too.

I felt my lips curl up at her being so cute.

I stood up, and Lily surprised me by taking the tie out of my hand. She flipped the collar of my dress shirt up and knotted the tie for me. She smoothed down my collar, and something about her gentle touch made my heart beat faster.

“Hey, when I get back, we should have a gaming night,” I suggested.

She cocked her head at me in question.

“Bring your console over, and we’ll get take out. We’ll get the kids to bed and play Dragonspire together.”

Her eyes lit up. “Oh, Logan, I’d love that. That sounds like a perfect date for my little gamer heart.”

I swore I heard Mari mutter ‘nerds’ under her breath, but I ignored it when her sister smiled at me.

I lifted Lily’s chin and planted a slow, lingering kiss on her lips.

Should I have done that when we were just casual? Nope. But when she melted into the kiss, I forgot all about our arrangement. If she didn’t want that, she’d have pulled away.

I ended the kiss, despite her hands clinging to my lapels, making me want to kiss her until her lips were bruised and wanting.
