His Wounded Heart

“You’re the dream I didn’t know I had,” I whisper back.

I feel his cock begin to press against my entrance. Stretching me. It stings just a little, but there are a lot more good feelings to offset the slight bit of pain as he delves deeper. He pauses. I see him searching my face and that has to stop. I pull up my knees and arch my pelvis. Simon shudders and plunges even deeper. So deep that soon our hips meet. I have never felt so full in my life. Again, he stays still.

“Move, dammit,” I demand.

“Give it time, Love.”

The word love barely registers, I’m too immersed in sensation. If he doesn’t start moving and assuage the ache he has created I’m going to go up in flames.

“Please, Simon. I need you to move.” I lift up and bite his shoulder.

Hard.

His laugh is sharp and hoarse. Is he mad? I don’t care, because now he’s started to move. He thrusts, and I arch. Is it moments, or is it an eternity that we move in a rhythm that only nature understands?

On and on I breathe and feel Simon. I let myself drown in the flashes of pleasure as he takes me to a place I’ve never felt before. Then everything narrows to an urgent pinpoint as I try to grasp something great. Something momentous.

“It’s okay, I’ve got you,” I hear him whisper.

His hand moves between us.

I’m flying.

I soar.

I roll over, trying to block out the sun so I can burrow in for a little bit more sleep with Trenda in my arms.

The sun?

Wait a damn minute.

I move slowly so that I don’t disturb Trenda, then reach over to the nightstand that is now empty of condoms but does have my phone. I pick it up.

Holy fuck!

It’s oh seven hundred.

How in the hell did that happen? Even after I’d tried to drink my weight in Jack Daniels the other night I’d gotten up at oh five hundred, but this morning I’ve slept in two hours? I roll over and look at Trenda who, even now, is snuggling back up against me. I pull her close and sigh with contentment.

That’s another thing. I’d been married for seven years and I did not do snuggling. I’d tried it in the beginning, but I liked my space. I’d always figured it was because I’d gotten married in my late twenties so having my space in bed was just ingrained in me.

Guess not.

With Trenda Avery, I was all onboard with snuggling.

An old dog can learn new tricks.

The sunlight brings out the auburn highlights in her hair, and I trace my fingers over her soft cheek, careful not to wake her. I have never met any woman who I connect with on so many different levels. I stroke her cheek again and she smiles in her sleep.

I’m going to need to get my head screwed on straight mighty quick. First, I need to make sure that she isn’t serious about leaving town. Then I have to figure out what in the hell I’m going to do with myself if I stay here in town. Working for Harvey or Dave don’t sound like good options, nor does finding a cabin up on the mountain. Granted, I am enjoying time getting the rec center rebuilt, but that’s not something that is really using a lot of my brain cells. It might if I have to do the plumbing, but I’m going to be too smart to get involved with that shit. That’s a new trick I don’t want to learn.

I feel Trenda’s breathing change.

“You waking up?” I ask.

“You have a good reason for me to wake up?” she responds.

“I made dinner. I was hoping you would offer to make breakfast.”
