“That isn't how it works,” she chided.

“Still figuring it out,” he said.

“You've been using that excuse for six months,” she countered. Mayhem grinned, and Moon headed toward the bathroom. She stopped at the doorway. “Mayhem?”

“Yeah?” he asked.

She looked at him. “I love you.”

His expression softened instantly. “Love you too, baby.” Moon smiled. She still liked saying it to him, but the best was hearing him say it back. She had a feeling that would never get old, no matter how much time had passed.

The Dark Chaos clubhouse was packed. Moon stopped at the entrance to the main room. “No.”

Mayhem stood behind her. “You haven't even seen anything yet.”

“I see people,” she said.

“That's generally what happens in a clubhouse. People gather,” he said.

“There are too many people,” she whispered.

“Silverfang came over,” he said.

“I noticed.” The leather kuttes made it obvious. Dark Chaos and the Silverfang Brotherhood were mixed together. A year ago, Moon wouldn't have believed the sight, but now it was normal. Mostly—Dark Chaos still had rules about Silverfang using their bar, and Silverfang had rules about Dark Chaos touching their motorcycles. Both sides routinely ignored the other's rules, though.

Tempest stood near the bar with Howler. His arm rested around his wife's waist. Tempest was arguing with Red about something, and Blue was laughing. Chrome sat at the end of the bar—alone, and Moon noticed that immediately because Christmas wasn't there.

“Howler!” Mayhem called.

His Prez looked over. “Finally.”

Moon frowned. “What is happening?”

Tempest smiled. “Come here.”

Moon pointed at Mayhem. “If this is something stupid he arranged—”

“It was Howler’s idea,” Mayhem said, looking offended. “Why did you immediately assume it was me?”

Moon stared at him. “Because you are usually the one who comes up with stupid ideas.”

“Fair.” He followed her across the room. Moon noticed a new sign hanging above the hallway leading to her clinic, and she stopped. She looked at Mayhem, who had suddenly become fascinated with the ceiling.

“Mayhem,” she breathed.

“Hmm?” he hummed.

“What is that?” she asked, pointing at the sign.

He looked at it. “Oh. That?”

The sign read:

DR. MOONLIGHT VALE

SHIFTERS TREATED.
