Smart girl.

Their conversation moves back to work and some revenge plot they have in a never-ending break room war.

From my understanding, all three work at the same hospital, but only my Pocket Doc and Katia are nurses. The other one works in the finance department, but the goal is shared.

I go back to the names they mentioned: Enrique and Emilio Montalvo.

Have money. Asking too many questions about my port. Empresarios.

Henry also mentioned a businessman in our last conversation.

Picking up my cell from the table, I shoot off a message.

I need everything on Enrique and Emilio Montalvo. Especially their family or friendship ties, recent investments, and names of who they fuck. ~Saint

His reply comes in fast.

On it. I have something else for you to read and see. Possible picture of Kirill and Henry left you a note. ~Trojan

How does a blind man leave a note?

Give it to me at church. ~Saint.

Got it, Presidente. ~Trojan

“…oh, shit! We got to go, or we’ll be late!” Katia says then, grabbing her bag and standing up. She drops a few bills for the tip. “We have fifteen minutes. Move it.”

Tatiana does the same, pushing Genesis’s hands away when she tries to tip, too. “I got it. Let’s go.”

“I need the bathroom first.” Pocket Doc slips her wristlet beneath her arm, already stepping away. “Meet you there. Go and check us in.”

As the two rush out and Genesis walks away from me and toward a short hallway where the bathrooms are, I wait. Give her enough distance that she doesn’t remember I’m here—feel me following her.

I’m just a handful of steps behind by the time the restroom door closes, and I’m leaning against the opposite wall while the faucet from inside turns on. A minute passes. Then another, and it’s at exactly the four-minute mark that she steps out, adjusting the little wallet in her arm.

She freezes at the sight of me.

“Seriously?” My lips curl as I push away from the wall, while her eyes flick from the lobby to me. Multiple times. A hint of nerves in her eyes. “Do you borrow women from bathrooms now? Or am I just special?”

Mouthy little thing.

“Just you.”

Genesis’s nipples pebble at my words. Tight, sweet little points. “That’s not charming.”

“Wasn’t trying to be.” Another step closer and that mango scent teases me, subtle but impossible to ignore. Just like she’s proving to be. She’s going to be a problem.

I know this, and still don’t walk away.

Genesis backs up a few steps as I advance, trying to put some distance between us, but I don’t entertain the notion. Instead, I take another few steps until her back hits the wall beside the door.

Her breath catches.

Her eyes darken.

Good.

I plant one hand beside her head and lower mine just close enough to feel the heat coming off her skin; the sweetness of her drink skims across my senses every time she exhales. Her natural mango scent, with the orange from the morir soñando.
