“You did so well for me, taking your punishment. How do you want to come again as a reward?” Blood roars behind my ears and his voice sounds far away. I’m so overstimulated, I can’t think of his question or answer him at all. I've already come once, but he wants another.

Instead, he takes pity on me, reaches down for the vibrator’s control and turns it to seven. The immediate stimulation against my G-spot and clit have me exploding into a screaming orgasm. My eyes pinch shut, my toes curl, my fingers dig into the mattress, even as my arms collapse, pitching me forward and my legs out straight. My thighs squeeze together, increasing the vibration against my already sensitive parts.

Static explodes behind my closed eyelids and I’m pretty sure I black out.

I’m vaguely aware of the vibrations stopping, the vibrator being pulled out, followed by the now half-melted plug.

A cold washcloth is laid across the back of my neck and a shiver works down my spine, even as it feels amazing on my over sensitive, flushed skin.

A disembodied voice chuckles at my expense from somewhere above me as my ankle is gripped and my leg pulled gently over the side of the bed. A warm washcloth gently cleanses my pussy and ass and the juxtaposition of the cold at my neck and warm at my core does something soothing to my nervous system.

The mattress dips when Harrison’s big body joins me.

I should say something but I’m torn between teasing him and thanking him for making every sexual experience with him somehow better than the last.

He’s healing the anxious child in me who had to be perfect all the time every time he wrecks me.

Warm lips press against my sweaty temple as he gently pulls a piece of my hair that got plastered to my forehead.

“God, you’re perfect. Are you okay? Was I too rough with you?”

I shake my head, my soul still floating somewhere above my body.

I'm vaguely aware of being wrapped in strong arms before I fall asleep.

Chapter twenty-three

Melody

"Idon't give a fuck what they want," Harrison's irritated voice whisper-shouts from the living room. I rub my eyes, clearing the sleep from them, and running my hands over his sheets. Sheets that smell like him, and me, and sex. I smile, feeling more content than I have in a long time. Maybe ever.

I'm safe, sated, protected, with a world of possibilities ahead of me. I feel like I could take on the world. Like nothing can stop me, now that I have Harrison in my corner.

But Harrison's voice rises, stealing my peace and replacing it with worry.

I'm naked, but I don't know if Harrison is arguing with someone in the apartment, so I find one of his t-shirts from his dirty laundry and sweatpants. His sweatpants immediately fall from my hips, but I grip them in my fist and open his bedroom door, tiptoeing down the short hallways.

"She's a whole-ass adult. If she wants to take off for Bali, who am I to stop her?" He sounds bored, but there's a stillness to his voice that's a warning to anyone smart enough to pick up on it. His back is to me as he leans against the kitchen island. He has his phone to his ear as he listens to whoever is on the other line. "Anything else, mother?" he asks, heavy with sarcasm.

He doesn't wait for her to answer before stabbing the End button on his phone. His body is still hard with anger, so I slide my hands up his back, over his shoulders, and down his arms.

"How much of that did you hear?"

"Enough."

I may not have heard the entire conversation, but I can make some assumptions. I assume Chris went to their parents to use as leverage to get information out of Harrison about my location. And he protected me. Again. I don't know anything about his relationship with his parents. I know there's some strain there that revolves around their sister, but, once again, he's chosen me. He's chosen to protect me. My chest warms.

He sighs, still obviously irritated. This won't do.

I duck under his arm, sliding between him and the island before propping myself up to sit on the counter. I wrap my legs around his waist, pulling him to me, still happy and content.

I don't give him time to push me away before I bring my lips to his. This is our first real kiss, I realize suddenly. His lips press against mine for a breath before they're gone. I blink my eyes open to see Harrison frowning down at my lips.

"What's wrong?" I ask, confused and a little hurt at the rejection.

"We shouldn't..." he growls. He goes to remove my hands from around the back of his neck but I resist.

"And why shouldn't we?"
