“Urinating in houses is frowned upon,” Clint says flatly. “Are you sure you want us to mark your house?”

“Breathe!” Fox shouts. “Breathe.”

Lorelei’s face twitches, and she turns away from him. Clint buries his face in Jace’s shoulder and laughs.

“Jace, go lay down a clue for this…” Lorelei frowns at Clint. “Person.”

“Person?” he repeats, echoing her. “Ooh, hoity toity.”

Felix walks up and grabs Clint and kisses him. “Be nice to my mum, and I’ll suck your dick again.”

Clint’s eyes laser focus on his omega’s face. “Yes, Omega. I’ll be good. My apologies, Omega Sol.”

She jerks her head, confused. “What?”

Jace comes out of the house. “Okay, in you go, Clint.”

Clint goes in and comes out cackling. “Very freaking funny, smartass.”

Jace chuckles. “Did you get the token?”

Clint holds up a gold plastic coin.

“Okay, Khione, you and Zaire can go on. One is blindfolded, the other stays just inside with a monitor and a walkie-talkie. You watch on the screen and talk him through, okay?”

She looks at me.

“You tell me where to go,” I say, trusting her.

“Okay, we’re going to ace it.”

We head in, and she’s pulled into another room. Straight away, I notice that Spectre stays plastered against my leg. When my heart beats too fast, he rubs his giant paw on my leg.

I focus on him and moving forward.

“Hey, Zaire Bear.”

“I’m here,” I say shortly.

“Now, you have the blindfold on, right?”

“I do. I can’t see anything.”

“Good, trust me, I won’t let you down.”

“Okay, um. Can you put the talkie down to Spectre?”

I hold it out to him.

“When I’m done, take hold of his collar. I will talk you through the rest, listen to me but follow him.”

“Uh-huh.”

“Spectre…”

The dog listens intently.

“Go find Felix.”
