“You did? How? I thought Seattle needed one winger.”
“To be fair,” Macklin intervenes. “They chose Becks. But he wouldn’t sign without me.”
They fill me in on what happened at the arena, and now it makes sense why they took so long.
“Guys, I’m so happy that you both get to have your dream come true. No one deserves it more than you two.”
“Talia,” Macklin’s eyes are a smoldering dark blue right now. “You’re my dream. And I’m with Becks. I’m not going to Seattle without you.”
These two men will be the death of me, I swear. “Of course you’re going to Seattle. But you don’t have to go without me. I think I want to look for a job while I decide what kind of graduate program I want to attend. And to be honest, I’m excited to get out of California and experience a different place.”
“Wait until you experience Seattle’s weather.” Becks chuckles. “We’ll be lucky if you don’t run back here.”
I look at them and an irrational hope begins to fill my heart. “So we’re all moving to Seattle. Does that mean that I have more time?”
There’s no need to spell out what I want more time for, but my hopes are dashed when Macklin and Becker shake their heads.
“Nope,” they both say.
My heart stops beating. Not literally, but it might as well be. This is it. They want me to choose, and I can’t.
“I’m sorry. I love you both. Just the thought of ending things with one of you is too much to even bear. Please don’t ask me to choose tonight. I don’t know how much having more time is going to help me, but I don’t know what else to do.”
“You don’t need more time,” Becks says. “Because if that’s how you feel, we don’t want you to choose.”
My heart kicks start again. It’s just a tentative little kick, on the off chance that this isn’t just a dream. “You don’t?”
“We don’t.” Macklin confirms. “Becks and I talked about it and we think things are great the way they are. We’ve always had the same dreams since we can remember. For the longest time it was hockey, but now it’s you.”
Becks laces his fingers with mine. “You make us happy and complete us, Talia. You helped us rediscover that we love each other. You bring us closer because we love you.”
My eyes well up and I’m so happy that I’m speechless. “I love you, guys.” I finally manage to choke out.
They both kiss me and, like always, my body comes alive in their arms.
“God, you’re so fucking beautiful,” Macklin growls, cupping my tits.
“Absolutely perfect,” Becks’s breath fans over the back of my neck as he cups my buttocks.
Thank goodness I’m trapped between them, because I don’t think my knees would support me otherwise.
“I think we should move this show to the bedroom,” Macklin says.
“I’ve never heard a better idea,” Becks agrees.
A little shriek escapes me when Macklin hoists me over his shoulder to carry me to the master bedroom, fireman style.
“Guys, wait,” I giggle, so turned on that I’m almost breathless. “What about the party? They’re waiting for us to celebrate.”
Macklin walks into the bedroom, and Becks kicks the door closed.
“They’ll be partying all night,” Macklin says, lowering me onto the mattress. “They’ll be still there in an hour or two.”
Becks agrees. “He’s right. This, with the three of us, is the only celebration that matters.”
