Chase was pretty sure his fucking chakras had been realigned or something. It couldn’t be normal to feel this good. This light. Like some awful, dirty crust had been shaved off him, leaving him free to move, to breathe.

“Okay, enough of this bullshit,” Sammy proclaimed loudly.

Chase glanced up from his food bowl, noodles dipping from his mouth. “Gurgh?”

“What is going on with you? Not that I’m complaining, but you’re, like, glowing. You’re smiling all the time. You’re practically bouncing from one place to another. You’re smiling while eating. This stuff isn’t that good.”

Chase finished chewing and swallowed. “Mine is pretty good, actually. What did you get?”

Sammy let his head tick to the side, eyes narrowing sarcastically.

Chase snorted. “Okay, okay. So…you know that app you got me on?”

Sammy threw his chopsticks on the coffee table dramatically, making Noah jump and make a protesting noise. Sammy ignored him. “I knew it. Why didn’t you say something? Tell me everything.”

Chase tucked his chin in, feeling his cheeks heat. “I dunno, I just…we haven’t met face-to-face. Not sure if we will. But he’s so cool and nice.”

Sammy spun his hand in a ‘keep going’ gesture.

“I dunno what you want me to say!”

“How old is he? What does he look like? What have you talked about? What does he do for work? Where does he live? Are you guys having phone sex, or what?”

Noah choked on his food as Chase burst out with a, “Sammy.”

“Oh, come on. Spill.”

“Urgh, fine. He’s like…late thirties.”

Noah’s head snapped up. “Whoa, what? That’s so old. I mean, not old, but so much older than you.”

“So? He’s really nice. It’s not like he’s taking advantage of me,” Chase protested. “I’m not telling you stuff if you’re gonna be judgmental.”

Noah held his hands up. “Not judging. Just…saying.”
