Khaos throws back the rest of his dad’s liquor.
“Those were not balls. Those were ovaries.” But they were big. Definitely bigger than mine.
Oh my God. I knew my mom was mean but I didn’t know she was cold-blooded.
“Does that mean she…loves me?”
“What’s not to love?”
I go to roll my eyes but Khaos doesn’t so much as blink. He’s being serious?
“I…don’t know,” I say with as much humility as possible.
Suddenly breaking eye contact, he glances around, shifting in his seat.
Okay… Maybe not then.
I blow out a loud breath. “Guy’s gonna be furious.”
Khaos barks out a laugh before sobering and frowning at the table. “Yeah.”
“At least I won’t have to hear about it since, you know, he blocked me.”
His eyes return to mine. “You care?”
“That he blocked me? No.” My scoff sounds forced, even to me.
“Seems like you care.”
I shake my head. “I don’t. He’s…” Another weird noise comes out of my mouth. “I mean…there’s nothing for us to talk about, so… Why would I care?”
When Khaos doesn’t reply in any way, I rub the back of my neck before making my way up to my hairline.
“If you need something to do with that hand, Silver, come over here and I’ll put it to good use.”
With that same hand, I flip him off, getting a rumble of laughter in response.
“That’ll get put to use, too.”
“Up your ass?”
“Nope. Never.”
I raise my eyebrows in challenge. “Never?”
“Fucking. Ever.”
We’ll see about that. He’s been flirting with mine. I don’t see why I can’t reciprocate at some point.
Neither of us speaks for a minute.
“I’m not like her though…right?”
“Did you fuck Guy’s best friend in retaliation?”
My vagina practically shudders at the mere notion, but ignoring that, I ask as seriously as I can, “Should I?”
“If you want to be an accomplice for murder.”
