“I’ll walk you up.”
“I’m not going upstairs.”
“Where are you going?”
She hesitates, glancing at her mom.
“The patch can wait, I guess. It’d probably fall off anyway,” she says to her daughter’s silent question. “But I don’t want to have to get on you about it later, so make sure you wear one until that thing is gone.”
Kota breezes by me, waiting until we’re in the hall to say, “I don’t need a fucking escort around my own house.”
I love it when she uses my favorite word. I don’t love it when she says it so viciously toward me, but it’s still entertaining hearing such a squeaky-clean girl use such a dirty word.
She heads for the stairs to the basement, and I follow her.
“You let Guy walk you around like a dog.”
“No I don’t.”
“Why is he always over here?”
“Because he’s my boyfriend.”
“He’s your cat.”
“What?” Kota stops halfway down the stairwell to swing a glare at me.
Why did I say that? That’s Tina’s…belief.
“He’s…a…pussy.” Solid recovery.
“This again. You sound like my mom. You’re both broken records. Just shut up.” She’s on the move again. “God, I’m so over you. I’m so over everybody. Can you just go somewhere and fuck off?”
“Sure. Got any porn recs?”
Her headshake tells me I hit the target I was aiming for. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel as good as I hoped.
“If you’re looking for accurate representation, I recommend Men with Micro Peens.”
I chuckle. “I don’t have a micro dick.”
“That’s not how it felt.”
“How’d it feel?”
“Quick and disappointing.”
Bullseye. The sting of her hitting her target hurts way worse. Mostly because it’s somewhat true. My dick is big. That’s a fact. She can throw all kinds of insults at me about my size and none of it will stick. None. But that day in the kitchen was quick. It wasn’t disappointing to me, but the fact that she felt it was…sucks. At least I made her come, so it couldn’t have been that bad. Could it?
“Are you sure you’re not confusing me with Guy again?”
She raises her middle finger above her shoulder. It’s not as satisfying as hearing her say fuck but it’s close. Where was all this spirit during dinner?
“So your boyfriend’s bad in bed? That explains why you’re so bitchy.”
“I’m not bitchy. I’m…being stalked in my own home and nobody fucking cares!” she yells at the high ceiling before lowering her voice to mutter, “You’d be bitchy, too.”
“I’m not stalking you, Silver. I’m going to the same place you are.”
