7 Minutes in Sea Haven

Seated in one of the eight large recliners, Khaos stares right at me.

“Oh, um. Sorry. I didn’t know you were in here.”

I turn to leave, but his voice stops me.

“About time.”

Was he waiting for me?

“Huh?”

“A promise is a promise. You know what movie you want to watch?”

“Uh, no. I’m not… It’s—”

“Who are you talking to?” Guy runs into my back, making me shuffle into the theater.

Khaos’s gaze relocates from me to my boyfriend.

“Theater’s taken. Let’s do something else.”

“What’s playing?” Guy squints at the giant screen. “Rocky. Classic.”

Without waiting for a response, Guy falls into the recliner directly in front of Khaos.

“Guy?”

“What?” The innocence on his face seems so genuine but he has to know this is inconsiderate.

“The movie already started. We should let Khaos finish.”

“No, babe. It’s less than ten minutes in.” He points at the screen. “Khaos doesn’t mind if we join, do you?” Once again, Guy doesn’t wait for any sort of acknowledgement from Khaos before making himself more comfortable, putting our drinks in the cupholders.

I look between both men, only one of them paying me any attention.

“Guy, I don’t—”

“Come sit down.”

My stepbrother’s completely silent, no words coming out of him whatsoever.

“Is that okay?” I ask him.

“Kota.” Guy gives me a subtle headshake.

Khaos looks at the back of my boyfriend’s head, then me, before finally saying, “Whatever you want.”

From anyone else, that sentence would sound polite. From Khaos though, it sounds pointed.

Guy’s patting the recliner next to him, except when I go to sit in it, he grabs me around the waist and pulls me on to his lap.

Automatically, I squirm from the discomfort of it all.

In my ear, Guy groans. “What did I say about side to side? Only up and down.”

All my movement comes to a screeching halt. He still expects me to fuck him, here, now, with a damn audience.

“Seriously?” I hiss as quietly as possible.
