“I really don’t want to talk about it, Gray. Can we just drop it please? I just want to go home.”

“Spill. It.” The air inside the car was sucked out. Anger and frustration rolled off his shoulders in waves.

“I, uh, I found a table in the kitchen with like brownies, cupcakes, and cookies and what not. So, I grabbed a red velvet cupcake, you know cause they’re my favorite. And a group of people in the kitchen watched me eat. They were whispering and giggling. I looked up and saw them staring.”

“Uh, hi? Are we not supposed to eat these?” Anxiety tingled down my spine. God that would be so embarrassing if we weren’t supposed to eat anything.

“No. They’re for everyone to eat, but, ha, I don’t think you need anything from there, hun.” A snotty tone filtered through the background of laughter, music, and clinking bottles.

“I-I’m sorry?”

“I am too. Make sure you save some for the rest of us.” The girl smirked as she and the rest of the girls in the group walked by. Her angel wings flapped with the bounce in her step.

“Are you serious?” Grayson’s voice cut through my rambled retelling of the night.

“Yeah. That’s not all either.”

Mortification had set in. I threw the half-eaten cupcake in the trash and turned to leave when a voice from the group spoke up.

“Hang on, sweetheart.”

I turned around to see your typical “Chad” step through the group of onlookers.

“Yes?” My voice was quiet, shaky. I wanted to hide and never show my face again. All the people just stood there and watched. It was like middle school all over again.

“You got a little something,” the guy motioned to the corner of his mouth. Heat seared into the skin of my cheeks.

“Let me,” he muttered wiping his thumb across the icing and sucking it into his mouth.

“Uh, thank you,” I stuttered.

“Don’t listen to her. The foods there for people to eat.”

Another from the group stepped forward.

“Yeah. You looked like you were quite enjoying that cupcake too.” A salacious grin quirked at his lips. A dazed looked across his eyes.

A laugh from behind them as another strolled forward.

“It’s nice seeing a girl who likes to eat, right, Ryan?”

The first guy, Ryan, shrugged his shoulders. “They always got a little meat on their bones. Don’t they, Aaron?”

Guy two tilted his head, his grin deepening into something almost sinister.

“Real good to grab on to. Like having me a handful. You like having a little cushion, don’t you?”

The third guy stepped forward again, his hand shooting out to wrap around a few curled strands of hair. My heart beat in my chest. I didn’t know if I was scared, angry, embarrassed, ashamed.

“Yeah, I do,” Andrew started, snickering, “Fat bitches always have the tightest pussies.”

All three of them started laughing hysterically, moving to circle me on all sides. Rage burned through my body; I was completely humiliated.
