Keegan is rushing past us to the entry hall, slamming the door open.

I can hear Alex yelling, worried, afraid, and that’s something you don’t hear often. I jump up running to the door, Cade on my heels. The scene reminded me of that night I ran finding Dani broken in the hall floor.

But the scene before me isn’t far different.

A crumpled body lies on the doorstep. Light brown hair matted with a red tinge covers her face. Her chest rises and falls faintly. The space between each movement is alarming, even for me.

Keegan is rushing over her, kneeling by her side with Alex, lifting her shirt, her arms, and checking her pulse.

“Shit! Cade get my fucking bag now!” He shouts, pointing with bloody hands up the stairs to Dee’s room.

Cay doesn’t even say a word as he races up the stairs, footsteps pounding on the floor.

I glanced around the corner, seeing Liz sitting with Dani, both looking afraid.

I curse.

“Wanna tell me what the hell is going on?” I look at Alex, my anger barely contained.

“I was coming back from the warehouse and decided to stop by and check in with Bruiser. I couldn’t leave her,” he mumbles.

“Why didn’t you just call an ambulance, or like, take her to the hospital?!”

“Because…she was found by the storage yard, Grays.” He looks at me dead in the eye. “She was outside the fight club. Bruiser found her just before I got there. He was coming out to meet me in the parking lot and…”

“Okay, so he couldn’t call the paramedics?”

“I thought so too, but then I saw—”

Keegan cuts him off, with a gasp. “This.”

Higher up on the girl’s stomach, in crudely carved letters is one word.
