“You been over here recently? Like within the last week?”

“No. I swear. I don’t even live in Tampa. This is my first time at her house. I knew this was a bad idea. I never should’ve listened to Yaseer. If you’re her boyfriend, I didn’t know. I told Yaseer I was feeling her, but she was always so busy, and he told me that sometimes you have to apply pressure to solidify your position. So I took his advice and pulled up on her. I just wanted to surprise her with flowers. Show her I was interested, but I ain’t know she had a nigga. I swear. You don’t have to worry about me. I’m going to back off.”

“How you got her address?” I badgered, pushing him further over the balcony.

“When Khaleesi was sick, I sent her some stuff through DoorDash.”

“Xain,” Khaleesi hissed, and I turned around to mug her. “What the fuck are you doing? Pull him up! Now!”

I begrudgingly pulled Andy back over the balcony, and he coughed, dropping near our feet. Khaleesi looked good as fuck, still wet from her shower, with the shower cap covering her braids.

“Get the fuck on nigga! Or you want me to throw you over that bitch?” I barked.

Andy scrambled to his feet and rushed back through the glass doors in a blur. He trampled the flowers on his way out.

“You have to go! Xain, my brother can’t see you doing stuff like that. Hell, my neighbors either. I love where I live! It makes work so convenient with Q and the girls also living in the building.”

“Well, Q is looking at houses, so maybe it’s time for you to do the same since you giving niggas you don’t even fuck with for real your address,” I argued.

Khaleesi palmed her forehead as the front door swung open. Her spine straightened once she saw Noah swaggering through the door with the food in his hands. The headphones over his ears left him oblivious to us on the balcony.

“Bye, Xain. I can’t with you right now!” Khaleesi snapped, pointing towards the door. “It’s cool. I’ve been kicked out of better places. I have things to do anyway.” I fixed my shirt and headed for the door.

“Why are there flowers on the floor?” Noah inquired, picking the bouquet off the floor.

It was a nice bouquet of red roses. That fuck nigga didn’t know shit about Khaleesi for real; he would’ve needed purple flowers to impress her.

“Wrong address. Your sister doesn’t want them.”

“Can I keep them?”

“Yeah, you got a shorty? No need for them to go to waste.”

“I got something I’m working on. These flowers will definitely earn me a few points with her,” Noah bragged.

“Enjoy y’all dinner. I’ll see you later, beautiful.” I leaned down to peck Khaleesi’s cheek.

Even with her arms folded across her chest and her face screwed up, she was still fine shit. I dapped Noah up on my way out.

I found myself driving further south instead of north to get home. My truck was parked in front of Yaseer and Marissa’s house on Davis Island within minutes. I still had access to their security systems and vehicles since my company was over everyone’s security. It was nothing for me to be waiting in the backseat of Yaseer’s Bentley when he climbed inside around eight o’clock that night.

“Wow, I thought we were better than that,” I monotoned.

Yaseer spun around in his seat, and I didn’t need X-ray vision to know that he had a gun aimed at my chest.

“Xain, what the fuck? You lucky I didn’t blow your head off,” Yaseer sighed once he realized it was me.

“Why would you send that nigga Andy to Khaleesi’s house?”

“What? You in my car because I told the nigga to go for what he—” Yaseer paused and blinked at me rapidly.

“What if I sent a nigga at your wife to encroach on your territory?”

“Didn’t Khaleesi try to kill you in Miami last month? How the fuck am I supposed to know y’all got something going on now? I thought she was single,” he gritted.

“Well, she ain’t. That soft-ass nigga your friend?”

“We are friendly. I’ve used his venues and servers over the years. Why?”
