Jameera was at the hospital with her dad, who had improved dramatically since he first opened his eyes. They were hoping to discharge James before the end of the month. He still had a long recovery ahead, and Amill and I were holding it down in Jameera’s absence.

Their inventory came in and was ready to ship, but a lot of things fell by the wayside with James in the hospital. The promotional images were the last thing holding up the drop. We were fixing that so the line could still get out before the end of spring.

Amill stood next to me as we looked over the photographer’s shoulder, watching the pictures he snapped flash on the small screen. He adjusted the camera for a wider shot, and an idea hit me.

“On the count of three, I want everybody to jump at the same time. Jump like you just hit the lottery!” I shouted. “One… two… three!”

They jumped, sending sand shooting through the air. The photographer snapped away, going from standing to crouching for different angles. We repeated the jump a second time, and the photographer turned around to show us the pictures, and Amill ran in place, emitting a low squeal.

“EEEEEEKKKK! They are so amazing! I was already excited about the spring collection, but now I’m ready to kick shit into overdrive so that we can release these pictures. All those shades of melanin, the colors in the collection, and the illustrious Siesta Beach came together to create magic. Thank you, Khaleesi!” She celebrated, wrapping her arms around me.

“As y’all can hear, Amill loves it. That’s a wrap, guys!” I announced, giving them a giddy round of applause.

“Thank you all so much for helping bring Moon & Muse to life in front of the camera,” Amill added.

The models celebrated in various ways as the photographer and his crew started gathering their belongings. With the afternoon sun peeking through the clouds, we finished right on time. After giving my assistant for the day instructions to ensure the models made it back to the hotel and were compensated, I made my way home. To get a few sunrise shots, we’d been out prepping for the shoot since four o’clock that morning. I was exhausted.

When I made it home, I kicked my sandals off at the door and headed straight to my bathroom. The sand between my toes had to go. I turned into my bedroom and almost jumped out of my skin when I saw a man in my bed. Xain was unbelievable. I took a deep breath and stomped over to the bed. Before moving a muscle, I texted Q.

Q: You need to tell Tech to fix my door. Why can Xain still open my door?!

I was giving Xain the silent treatment after he caused that scene with Andy. The poor man was probably traumatized. I called to check on him after kicking Xain out, but he ignored the call, texted me never to call him again, and then blocked my number. As I approached the bed, the gifts on the nightstand behind Xain came into view. A black Chanel box sat next to a bouquet of at least a hundred purple roses.

Xain’s eyes popped open, and a grin spread across his face when he saw me ogling the gifts.

“Fuck. I ain’t mean to fall asleep,” he grumbled, sitting up. His large hands pulled me back into him. “I miss you, bae. Stop ignoring me, man.”

“I don’t know. I need to see what’s in the box first,” I teased, tapping the tip of his nose.

He let go of me and pulled the black box closer. I reached for the box, and Xain pulled it out of my reach. “Naw, I need a kiss first. I missed your lips.”

I leaned down and pecked his lips. Xain took an exaggerated breath, his eyes clamped shut.

“I missed your scent too.” Xain dropped the box and sniffed up my neck. A moment later, I felt his tongue trail down my neck. My eyes slammed shut as he pulled me down on the bed with him. “I missed feeling your soft skin against mine while I’m falling asleep.”

“I missed you too,” I confessed.

I hated to admit it. But it was the truth. With Noah moving in and Q focusing on Jameera and James, our schedules weren’t naturally forcing us to be in each other’s face. I saw him more when we hated each other.

“Then act like it,” he commented, his hands slipping into my linen shorts.

I reached behind me, cupping the back of his head, grinding into his hands. His lips kissed my neck, and I released a low moan.

“She missed me too,” he commented before sucking on my neck.

He slipped two fingers inside of me, and I spread my feet apart to make it easier. His free hand pulled my cami over my head. The cami had a built-in bra, so my titties were free.

“Fuck, you so wet. That pussy always sloppy for me. She loves me; we just need you to get your mind right.”

He brought those wet fingers to my clit, rubbing enticing circles. While palming my right breast. He tweaked my nipple and ran his hand up and down my neck again. I felt him pulling his shorts down behind me and remembered my sandy feet.

“Wait, I… my feet are sandy. I can’t get in the bed.”

“Get off the bed then,” he rasped.

We stood up from the bed, and Xain’s free hand pulled my shorts and panties down. He lifted me into his arms like I weighed nothing. Per usual. I couldn’t get enough of everything about Xain. With my legs in the crook of his arms, he crashed his lips against mine, carrying me to the nearest wall. My back met the cold wall, and I reached down, bringing his head to my lower lips. Xain thrust inside of me and caused friction with my clit.

“Ohhhggg!” I expelled the ugliest moan as my sandy toes curled. Xain and his devil dick made me cum off the first thrust.
