“I can’t see in that tunnel, Love.”

I held my left hand out to him, standing at the edge of the darkness. “Trust me, Mage,” I whispered seductively. “Follow me into the dark. I promise it’s worth it.”

He gazed down at me, the trust evident in his eyes. Taking my outstretched hand, he laced our fingers together, pulling me into his chest. The pad of his thumb stroked across my cheek as he studied my face with unusual intensity.

“Show me your secret, Love, and I’ll tell you mine.”

I smiled up at him before turning on my heel, pulling Palmer deeper into the soothing darkness. After a few minutes, the downhill tunnel became illuminated, dumping us out in the vast cavern that made my heart clench with happiness.

No true light reached its depths, making the life inside it a mystery to me. One I never wished to unravel, instead keeping it a real life fantasy for my eyes only. And Palmer’s. He was the first person I’d ever brought with me.

The cavern had its own ecosystem, none of the bigger predators bothering to hunt in its depths. Flowers, vines, trees, and mushrooms all inhabited the edges, growing inward and climbing the walls, leaving a dark patch in the center.

The ground lit up as we walked further inside, giving a greenish-yellow glow from the plants underfoot. I could only compare the look of it to Creeping Jenny on Earth. Tiny round leaves fed off our body heat, lighting a path of footprints.

I stood in the center of the cavern, spinning in place to take it all in, exactly as I did the first time I found the marvelous gem. It never grew old, not the sights nor the feeling of amazement. I loved how all the colors blended together, a kaleidoscope of neons casting living shadows against the rock walls.

The sound of rushing water could be heard echoing throughout. I’d traced the water back to a two-foot crack in the ceiling, causing water to cascade down the wall. Over time it had eroded the ground, forming a miniature sort of brook that led to a hole in the right side of the cavern. Swimming in it was a thrill of its own. I hadn’t been able to dive deep enough to find the bottom yet.

As Palmer ambled around, touching all the different plants and surfaces, I pulled the bottom of my t-shirt up to use as a makeshift basket. I strolled around the edges of the cavern, plucking berries, leaves, and flowers. When I’d picked a few things in every color I could find, I dropped them all in the center where I’d been standing.

I tugged my shirt over my head, letting it slip from my fingers as I observed Palmer. My leggings came off next, and then I waited for his eyes to fall on my naked body. And waited… and waited. Growing impatient, I picked my shirt up and threw it at him.

“What—”

“Come paint me,” I interrupted, nodding my head at the pile of striking fluorescent colors at my feet.

Palmer blinked a few times, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. “It’s gonna be hard ta talk seriously with ya naked and—”

“No.” I asserted, cocking my hip as I raised a delicate brow at him. “You’re going to paint me to keep yourself busy while you talk. I’m going to lay here like a good little canvas and listen. That’s all.”

I fucking hoped that wasn’t all, but I needed to be firm.

Palmer groaned. His thoughts swirled through my mind, dirty and fun, and I wished that we had an actual canvas to roll around on while covered in the bioluminescent colors.

Later, Sloane. Focus, Bitch.

Smirking, I decided to play with my mage. “Come, Palmer.” I demanded, hooking my finger and calling him to me. He narrowed his eyes at my tone, but he stayed put. “Now. We’re not playing your games tonight. Do as you're told, or I’ll have to punish you.”

He snorted. “I’m not the fae, Love. Ye can’t dominate me.”

I gave him a feral smile, tilting my head. “Are you sure?”

“Fuck,” he muttered. “I’m comin’ over there because I want to. Not because of yer smart mouth.”

“Uh-huh,” I agreed sarcastically, waiting for him to stand in front of me. “Kneel,” I commanded when he stopped.

“No.”

I clicked my tongue. “Kneel,” I stated firmly, placing my hand on his shoulder and giving him no other choice as I pushed him down. “I told you, Palmer. Tonight we’re playing my games. I’m taking away your usual control and giving you a tiny taste of the other side. You can say no, but something tells me you won’t.”

I circled behind him, pressing my chest against his shoulder blades as I leaned in to whisper to him, placing a soft kiss behind his ear. “You’re going to talk, and because of your behavior, I think I’m now owed a few orgasms as well. Shall I show you how I want them?”

He groaned again, so I took that as agreement. I flashed him image after image, cycling through what I’d seen from his thoughts and a few of my own.

His thumb circling my clit as he plunged his fingers inside me.

His mouth bouncing from one nipple to the next and the feel of his trimmed facial hair rubbing against my sensitive skin.
