Millie giggled as I stuck my tongue out at Hyde. “Would you like me to try to link you and Arwen while we’re here?”

“No—ho—ho,” Hyde sang, looking panicked. “Fuck that. Fuck that hard. Don’t do that shit to me.”

I chortled as the cocktail waitress dropped another round of drinks off to us. She leaned down to whisper, “That’s the second time those guys have bought you drinks.”

“And it won’t be the last.” I winked conspiratorially at her, totally misreading her expression.

“Be careful, Millie,” she warned. “He’s here.”

“It’s about godsdamn time,” Hyde retorted, making the woman’s eyes go wide before she hurried away.

“Why is she worried about LeBlanc?” I asked Miller.

The night witch’s gaze didn’t waver from the older woman’s back as she hobbled to her next customers.

“She and her husband have owned this bar for decades, but Felix bought the building from their landlord. He probably threatens them more than he does me.”

“Hmm.” I nodded my head thoughtfully.

“Are you going to buy it?” Hyde snarked. “Never mind, I know that look.”

My head continued to bob as I rolled my tongue across my teeth, seething at Felix fucking Leblanc.

“York? Will you text Franklin the address here and tell him that I want the building transferred into my name. The owner has recently died.”

“I take it Franklin will do what he does to get you what you want?”

“He’ll figure something out. He always does.”

“Sure thing, Sweetheart,” my druid responded curtly, letting me know they could feel the rage roiling within me.

“Who was the owner?” Stone inquired as another man stepped up to our table.

This guy I recognized. His straight nose and slicked-back, mousy brown hair made him look exactly like his younger brother had.

“The man standing in front of us.”

“Millie,” he greeted, pulling a chair out to sit across from her.

“Felix,” she responded, her voice clipped and cold.

“Don’t be like that, baby,” he purred, sickly sweet as he smirked at her.

I gagged and picked my tequila up to wash the taste of his words out of my mouth. Hyde snorted at me, and Miller tilted her chin down as she bit her lips together.

“Your friends are drunk, Millie. You know how I feel about that.”

Her eyes danced around the room, searching for her mysterious blonde mate. Her hands fisted when she didn’t immediately find him.

“He’s with Stone and York, Millie. This is your board, not his. You have all the backup you could ever need. We can take him out tonight with minimal damage. Make the first move.”

“You’re right,” she said, talking to me, but Felix misunderstood. “I don’t care how you feel about it. I’m too strong to be bowing down to you, so I’m going to stop.”

He blinked twice before tilting his head. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me.”

“I understand.” He shrugged. “You’re feeling mouthy with your friends beside you. They can’t keep you safe.”
