“Gods, Bish.” The wyvern groaned. “Shut the fuck up.”
Hyde pegged me with a no-nonsense look. “Can you drop him for real?”
I nodded my head but sweetly replied, “You don’t mean that.”
She scoffed at me. “Not right this second, but give him five more minutes, and I’m sure he’ll change my mind.”
“It won’t take him that long,” Joyner muttered, glancing down at the petite succubus.
I sensed a strange tension between Hyde, Arwen, and the newcomers. So I tried to get my guys and the Lynch twins inside to give them a minute alone.
“Come on. We need to figure out what the fuck we’re doing here.”
Miller met my eyes before shoving Palmer and Murphy toward the door. Stone mumbled something to Arwen as he pulled my nosy vampire by the front of his shirt.
“Let’s go, Wolf,” I called. “She could make all three of them kill each other before we made it to the door. Stop stressing.”
He grunted. “I’m not stressing over Hyde. I’m stressing about Bishop. He has no filter between his mouth and his brain, and the chances of him saying something epically dumb are pretty fucking high. I want to watch when she knocks him out.”
“I’m not going to hit him,” she sassed. “I’d rather raise my body count than chip a nail. I just had them done yesterday.”
Briggs chuckled. “Shout if you need us. I’ll be more than happy to run some interference for you.”

Mid Day
Murphy split away from us as soon as we made it inside, dragging Miller in the direction of Novak’s bedroom. He bitched at her as she yawned and stumbled. Heavy drinking two nights in a row clearly had not been a great idea for her.
We didn’t even make it past the living room before Hyde was in my head again.
“Fucking mates,” she growled. “Did you know?”
I stopped in the hall, letting my guys herd themselves into the kitchen. “I had no idea. I didn’t invite them, but I’ll ask them to leave if you want.”
She flipped through a dozen emotions, then settled for exhaustion. “Nah. We’re all going into Lisss-nah... town to get some lunch. I’m not sure what he just called the town that’s closest to us.”
“Lisnaskea? Do you need a portal so you can come and go?”
“Arwen has us covered.”
“We’re going to head into town in a bit, too,” I told her. “Let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary. We need to find more of Alric’s henchmen so we can question them. I killed the last few.”
“Of course, you did.”
After I felt her leave the property, I found myself motionless in the hall. But this time, it was to listen to the conversation my guys were having.
“When are you going to apologize to her?” Briggs questioned, his words rough and clipped in his frustration.
York snorted. “It’s going to take more than an apology.”
“You’re not helping.” My wolf groaned. I couldn’t see them, but I could picture him rubbing his forehead with his middle finger.
“I know,” my druid admitted. “I’m done trying to help. He cares fuck all about any advice given to him.”
