He would be salty about it.
To say the least.
Well, that made two of us.
Wednesday, June 17th
Morning
I followed Vaughn to the livingroom, shoveling a handful of skittles into my mouth as my hellish butterflies fluttered nearby. The knowledge that my guys were all back in one piece eased my soured mood, but just barely. Also, the candy was helping a little.
York and Palmer were sorting bags of… gloves and scarves and wool hats. In fucking June. It was technically still spring in the US, but I would bet the temperatures were near the nineties in Tennessee.
“What kind of numbers are we looking at in the Winter kingdom?” I asked, knowing I didn’t really want the answer.
“People?”
“No. The weather.”
Vaughn covered his mouth with his hand, his words muffled. “In the twenties.”
“Celsius?” It was wishful thinking; I knew that, but I crossed my fingers, anyway.
“Farenheit.”
“In June? Godsdammit.” I turned my hellhounds from butterflies to mice, dropping the tiny creatures in the pocket of my hoodie.
“It’s the Winter kingdom, Love,” Palmer supplied helpfully. “Emphasis on the winter part.”
I rolled my eyes. “That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s winter all the time.” I glanced at Vaughn. “Does it?”
He shrugged. “The snow begins to melt in November, but it’s back by March. And it’s always chilly.”
Briggs walked through the front door, tucking his phone in his pocket with a scowl on his face.
“Novak doesn’t get to book any more hotels or rentals. Ever.”
“What did I do?” My vampire touched his chest, his lips drooping like his feelings were hurt.
“You gave them my number. The neighbors called the owner to let her know we were having a gathering, and she thought it might go against the rental policy to have sex parties.”
Novak threw his head back, cackling at my disgruntled wolf. “That didn’t take long.”
“What didn’t take long?” Briggs growled.
“You didn’t see the woman peeking over the fence?”
“No.”
I covered my face. “Oh, gods.”
“What would you think if you saw a woman sitting between six guys with no shirt on?” Stone asked.
“She’s going to be exhausted,” Levi commented from the doorway. “But hopefully, one of them lets her come first.”
I choked down laughter when my guys turned hostile stares on him.
“What?” Levi inquired. “That’s what any sane person would think. Let her fuck who she wants; poor girl probably has daddy issues and needs a good therapist.”
