“Goose, goose, goose…” Trouble murmured.
She held her arms out wide, fingertips straight, with her palms facing the ground.
“Goose…”
Sloane quickly flipped her hands, her palms now glowing with a dark pinkish magic.
“Duck.”
I dropped flat to the ground, watching as Murphy and Thatcher dragged Sterling and Flint with them. I didn’t even bother to check on the guys. At this point, if they didn’t get the reverse of that game, then they could get knocked down.
She slammed her hands together, though the clap was quiet. Magic lurched out, rippling and spreading as if the air was a pond, until all the cursed were touched. They dropped to the ground in a domino effect, silent before they began groaning and moaning.
I rolled my head to glare at Thatcher. “See what I mean about the whole jump conversation? She said duck, and you fucking ducked.”
“I could see her magic,” he argued, rising to his feet. “And I’m not an idiot. I knew she was up to something.”
Sloane chuckled. “That magic was only visible because I wanted it seen. For future reference, if I say duck, you should hit the ground.”
“Will we be battling together in the future?” the alicorn quipped. “Or are you being a smartass?”
“Both.” She turned to smile at him. “Don’t get too comfortable. We’re going to Nashville.”
“We who?” Murphy asked.
Trouble spun her index finger in a circle. “We. All of us. You and your mate and her other two mates.”
“I fucking knew it,” York shouted suddenly. “Why didn’t you say anything? You guys were all acting weird, and I didn’t know how to bring it up—”
“It’s not your business,” Sterling sassed. “We’ve talked about it.”
“When?” the druid popped back.
“While you were circle-jerking your way through making a plan.” Murph rolled his eyes.
Trouble snorted, then frowned. “I missed a circle jerk?”
Stone sat on the ground beside me. “Well, the good news is she’s herself.”
“Who else would I be?”
“No one, Kitten. We were just worried about you.”
Potentially Another Tuesday? June 30th, maybe?
Time… Who the fuck knows anymore?
I could feel the absolute relief through the bonds with my mates, but they couldn’t feel my emotions yet. Something told me opening the bonds as soon as I woke wouldn’t have been smart. They were in a fight, after all…
“Sloane,” Talia called from the porch, flanked by my hellhounds. “Do I need to call for guards or healers?”
“No, ma’am. They’ll all be fine in a few minutes. Confused, but curse free.”
York grinned at me. “When did you have time to get to know my aunt?”
“When I scared the shit out of her. Apparently, she wasn’t prepared for me to gasp and sit straight up.”
“You changed clothes before you came to help us?” Stone pointed out, his brow raised.
