I whip around, gaze sharp enough to cut. “Are you out of your mind?”

He leans against the wall, arms crossed, maddeningly casual. “Not too sure what you’re implying, Miss Grace.”

“Don’t Miss Grace me,” I say, my voice rising and hands flying in the air. “Oh, I don’t know, maybe the part where you single-handedly lied to the world into thinking I dmed you, flirted with you, and oh yeah, wanted to ride you!”

His lips twitch. Then, he takes a step closer, but my legs are frozen in place. He’s looking at me differently now, his gaze dipping, slow and deliberate. Studying me. And then, before I can react, he lifts a hand. One finger. Just one. It skims along my collarbone, wiping away a streak of mud. My breath catches in my throat, and I swear the air in the trailer thickens.

His touch is barely there, the drag of his fingertip achingly slow. And when his gaze flicks back up to mine, his eyes are darker now. He leans in, just enough for his voice to drop lower.

“The offer stands.”

“What offer,” I grit out.

His mouth curves, slow and lethal. “That ride.”

I should step back. I should shut this down. But because I can’t take the high road right now, I step forward. Close enough that we’re sharing the same air, close enough to notice the way his pupils widen, amusement dancing in his gaze.

Fine. He wants a challenge? I’ll give him one. I tilt my head, voice dropping to match his, threading each word with quiet venom. “I wouldn’t touch you even if you got on your knees and prayed for it.”

His eyes widen just for a second, like he hadn’t expected that. Then, the surprise shifts, sharpens…turns into something dark and predatory.

“Is that what you like, sweetheart?” he murmurs, voice lower now. “Me on my knees, before you? Worshipping you?”

No matter how hard I fight it, my toes curl, my stomach knots, and my pulse gives me away.

His eyes gleam, his gaze sharpening. The air between us thickens, hot and charged.

The trailer door slams open. I jolt back like I’ve been caught red-handed.

Miranda strides in first, clearly thrilled, her energy practically vibrating with success. “Fantastic work, you two.”

Anna follows, grinning, phone in hand, already refreshing social media. “This is gold. Pure gold.”

Behind them, Juno stops short, eyes wide as she takes in the scene—Grayson and me, inches apart, still covered in mud, tension practically steaming in the air.

“Hello,” she draws out. “Did we interrupt something, Shrek and Fiona?”

I glare and take a massive step back. “No.”

Luca saunters in last, batting his eyelashes at Grayson. “Grayson, you are chef’s kiss,” he purrs, lounging against the counter. “That interview was too good.”

My eyes drift to Grayson as the tension is still heavy in the air.

Anna waves a hand between us. “Okay, whatever that was, bottle it, because the internet is on fire.”

Miranda nods, thrilled. “The dms comment? Genius. The bike insinuation? Unreal. But the way you two looked at each other on camera… Grayson, the public is eating this up.”

Anna doesn’t look up from her phone. “Oh my God, the edits are already rolling in. We’re going viral.”

Juno squints at me. “You look like a feral raccoon.”

I shoot her a look.

“A cute raccoon, obviously,” she quickly adds.

Anna claps her hands, practically bursting. “Charlie, we’re achieving our goal and more! Girls everywhere are calling this a win for women making the first move. You’re officially on a female empowerment roll.”

“I—what?”
