From the look of hatred on her face, I’d say no. But all she says is, “Go. Away.”
“I can’t.” Isn’t that the fucking truth. “I want to watch the fight and the best view is from here.” Resuming my position behind her, she goes back to looking to the ring, then looks over her shoulder and I know she’s about to spew some rage-filled words my way. But I don’t allow her the opportunity by covering her mouth with mine. And for a few seconds, she lets me kiss her. Then, she shifts back enough to give me a full view of the shock and anger covering her face. “You’re missing the fight.” I nod to the ring where the battle is in full swing.
She calls me a few slurs but turns to look at the matchup as the shouts around us grow louder. And she remains against me, my arm around her waist. Every time a punch is landed, or a kick is delivered on either opponent, her muscles tense slightly. Why is she here if she doesn’t like watching two chumps hitting each other?
Bringing my arm down, she goes still as I slip my hand under her shirt, my palm pressing against her stomach as she sucks in a breath. “If your hand goes any lower, I will break your fingers, one by one.”
I have no doubt she would follow through. “Lucky for me, I wasn’t planning on going down on you, not yet. Not until I have you all to myself and I can see your face when you come on my hand, my tongue, then my dick.”
“That’s it.” She rears her arm forward, swinging her elbow back as I barely shift to the side in time to miss the initial blow, only catching part of it. But the impact is enough to get her point across. And if it wasn’t, she tells me she’s completely done with my shit as she hurries away, disappearing into the crowd. Fuck. Pushing her wasn’t a good idea. But when do I ever take the easy road? Holding her against me wasn’t enough, all it did was make my dick harder and my craving deeper.
“Goddamn it, Creed. Why can’t you stop while you’re ahead?” Luna shoves me back as she goes to walk past.
“Don’t act all innocent.” She freezes at my words as I step closer to her. “After all, you’re the one who sold her out to begin with.”
She doesn’t move, knowing she is as much of an asshole as I am since she tipped me off that Dani would be here in the first place. Now she’ll do another favor for me and tell me what I need to know. “Where are y’all going from here?”
“I don’t know.”
“Where’s baby brother tonight?”
“I. Don’t. Know.” She flips me off, stepping away. “I’ll let you know when I do. But eventually, she’s gonna bash in your skull, and I can’t fuckin’ wait to watch.”
Yep. I’m counting on her trying sooner rather than later.

DANI
“You didn’t have to leave too.”
“No biggie.” Luna slides on the bench seat across from me.
“Yeah, but I feel guilty since I talked you into going then left early. I just couldn’t take any more of Creed’s antics.” And I really couldn’t. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to punch him, kick him, or knock his teeth out. Especially after he kissed me again. That fucker catches me off guard and leaves me questioning if I have any good sense left. It’s not simply his appearance and my obvious attraction to his good looks. No. There’s something else pulling me to him. Something I need to steer clear of if I want to remain sane.
“Yeah. He can be a real jackass.”
“Agreed.” Time for a change of subject. “Where’s Felix at tonight?”
“Since Mom is home and he can’t party there, he’s probably still at the field.” She recognizes my confusion because there are more than a few fields in the area. “Everyone hangs at the football field. Why?”
“Just wondering. I was surprised that the party was at your house last night, but I definitely noticed that Felix is the one who likes to party.”
“Yeah. A little too much.” Her voice fades off as a server steps up to the table, taking our drink order.
There’s an awkward silence that engulfs us, and it’d probably be wiser to change the subject, but I need to ask a few questions. Get some new piece of information, anything.
But Luna curses under her breath and says, “I’m sorry, Dani.”
“For what?” She doesn’t have to answer when a big lug drops onto the bench next to me, plucking the menu from my hand as Armani slides in next to Luna and Beau pulls a chair from a nearby table and sits at the end. “It’s not your fault, Luna. You can’t control the crazies any better than I can.”
“Hm. What do I want?” Beau asks, picking up the extra menu on the table that was in front of Luna. It’s Armani who snatches it out of his hand and drops it to the table. “The same burger you get every time.”
When Luna suggested RD’s, I wasn’t familiar with Radon Diner, but apparently, it’s a regular stop for Creed and his friends, which means it’s on my list to avoid from here on out. And for as hungry as I was, my appetite is gone now. Especially when I look over at Beau who doesn’t seem thrilled to be sitting here. But I can assure him, I’m even less thrilled. “I was just leaving.” I turn to face Creed, motion for him to move his ass off the bench so I can get out. But he remains scanning the menu. He has me trapped, the unease is already growing in my stomach.
“I’m not ready to go.”
“Great, but I am. Move and you can have the entire seat to yourself.” He really needs the extra space for his oversize ego. “Seriously, Creed. Get up.”
