Nico’s fingers paused around Bennett’s ankles. Nico seemed to go blank for a second, unfocused, like his brain had gone off-line, then his smile turned wolfish. The smile of a predator, a king, and it sent ripples of excitement along Bennett’s spine. With one pull of his arms, Nico jerked Bennett closer on the bed. “I will lay the world at your feet, amore.”
“I’d settle for just getting laid, if you’d ever stop talking.”
With a growl, Nico stripped off Bennett’s pants and finally got to work.
EPILOGUE
Two years later
There were too many cars in the drive. Nico scowled through the window as they approached the compound. “Che cazzo? Who is here this late?”
Antonio glanced in the rearview mirror. “Sofia is bringing her new boyfriend to meet you and your man. Did you forget?”
Merda. This was terrible timing. Nico caught some highlights of tonight’s hockey game between meetings and all he wanted to do was get his hands on Bennett. He vaguely remembered Sofia mentioning earlier this week that she would attend tonight’s game then come here. But Nico had been so busy with work and the stadium construction problems that the plans had slipped his mind. “What do we know of this kid?”
“Filippo already asked Sergei for a complete workup.” Antonio put the car in park and looked over his shoulder. “Guy came out clean.”
“Student?”
“Doctor.”
“How much older?”
“He’s twenty-eight.”
Nico sighed. A doctor? Who was almost thirty? This was new. Her three previous boyfriends had been young and unremarkable students, not particularly bright. None had been good enough for her, not even close. But Bennett made Nico promise not to interfere, to let Sofia choose her own friends and boyfriends.
Nico hated this. He did it, but he hated it.
Without another word, he threw open the door and stepped out of the car. Speaking of Bennett, Nico wondered how long he had to wait before kicking everyone out of the house. His blood had been a low simmer ever since watching the highlights of his beautiful and talented boyfriend beat the shit out of someone on the ice. Bennett rarely got in fights, and it never failed to get Nico horny as hell.
He needed to fuck Bennett soon. Rough and raw, just as they both preferred.
Inside the house, a small group was gathered in the kitchen. He let the door slam and quickly took in the situation. Filippo was leaning back against the counter, while Sofia and a brown-skinned man relaxed on bar stools. Bennett was nowhere to be found, but Nico could still smell the lingering hint of him in the kitchen air—a mix of the soap from the arena, sweat, and the smell of the rink. The combination was like a jolt of lust to his dick.
“Zio!” Sofia said, grinning over at him. “Finally. I was worried you forgot.”
Nico went over and kissed her cheeks. “Never, principessa. Did you have fun at the game?”
“Yeah. Uncle Bennett got us the best seats.” She gestured at the man next to her. “Zio, this is my boyfriend, Dr. Anthony Walker. Anthony, this is my uncle, Nico Marzano.”
The doctor stood, and he was slightly taller than Nico. Glasses with thick black frames sat on his face and his dark hair was short and neatly styled. He dressed smartly—for a Canadian—and clearly cared about his appearance. This was another shift from the other boys Sofia had brought over in the past.
Nico stuck out his hand. Dr. Walker glanced at it for a long beat, wiped his palm across his thigh, then accepted Nico’s hand. Was the doctor nervous? “It is very nice to meet you, Mr. Marzano.”
“And you, Dr. Walker.”
“Just Anthony.”
“Anthony. What is your area of concentration?”
“Oncology.”
Cancer. That was rough. “You must be very good at delivering bad news.”
“I guess I am,” the young man said, eyes blinking behind his glasses as he sat back down.
“He’s so kind with his patients, Zio.” Sofia gave Anthony a soft, adoring smile. “They all love him.”
