“What kind of a man tells someone that he is going to fuck their girlfriend so hard that she won’t remember their name?”

His eyes dance with mischief. “He told you?”

“Yes, he told me,” I fume.

“He’s even wimpier than I thought.”

“How is telling me wimpy?”

“Well, if someone said that to me about my woman—” his dark eyes hold mine, “—they wouldn’t live to tell the tale, let alone go running home to Mommy.”

“You might not live to tell the tale,” I spit. “Get out of my chair.”

“No.” He keeps sitting there. “When I am in this office, this will be my chair.”

“Edward.” I pinch the bridge of my nose. “I don’t know what you’re playing at.”

“I’m playing at five hundred thousand euros and you…had better start cooperating.”

“That was before I knew you were goading my boyfriend,” I whisper angrily.

“I do wonder.” He spins back and forth on my chair. “What did he say about you kissing me?”

My eyes bulge from their sockets. “Keep your voice down,” I whisper as I look around guiltily. “Do not ever speak of that again, and you, kissed me not the other way around.”

He smirks as his eyes hold mine and damn it, why is he so fucking attractive?

It’s criminal.

“So….” He steeples his fingers in front of him. “What happens now?”

“What happens now?” I repeat.

“Yes, what happens now?”

Who the hell knows what happens now, not me that’s for sure.

I grab a feather duster and hold it out to him. “Go…clean something.”

“The only thing I’m going to be cleaning are the cobwebs out of your vagina.” His eyes dance with delight. He’s playing with me now and honestly, his attempt at humor is way off. I’m on the edge of losing my living shit.

“Edward,” I fume. “I mean it.”

He stands. “So do I.”

“And I do not have cobwebs in my vagina.”

“I seriously doubt that.” He snatches the feather duster from me and walks out into the shop. I flop into the chair and put my head into my hands, this is a literal disaster.

Helene walks in and closes the door behind her, she peeks at Edward through the glass door. “What is happening right now?” she whispers as she cranes her neck to look at him. “Why is he here?”

“He won the auction.”

“What?”

“I know.” I throw my hands up in disbelief.

“But isn’t that…the owner of the casino?”
