“Remember when I said I was going to come visit? How’s three minutes from now?”

That took Nolan a moment, but when the words finally registered, he opened his eyes and squinted at the ceiling. “Wait, you’re here?”

“I will be. In three minutes. You going to come let me in, or what?”

Nolan scrubbed one hand down his face. “Did you drive through the night?”

“Yeah. It’s the best time for a road trip. No one’s on the road.”

“I thought you were going to come later this month.”

“Changed my mind,” King said casually enough to tell Nolan that something was up with him. “Besides, you said you had two tickets to tonight’s game but no one to take with you. So here I am. Your favorite plus-one.”

“My unwanted plus-one.”

“Liar. I’m turning onto your street, by the way.”

“I’m not home.”

A brief silence from King before he barked out a laugh. “Shit, seriously? Good for you. Guess you put out those feelers and they felt back, huh?”

“That doesn’t even make sense.”

“Now I feel bad for interrupting you.”

“It’s fine.” Nolan sat up and raked a hand back through his hair. “He’s got to get to the arena anyway.” Speaking of, Nolan’s car was still there.

“I’ll find a coffee shop or something while I wait for you,” King said. “What’s open at this hour?”

“I truly have no idea.”

“I’ll find something and text you where I’m at. Come meet me when you’re ready.”

“Give me thirty minutes,” Nolan muttered.

Eli exited the bathroom, his soft cock hanging between his legs, his freckles just everywhere, and his long legs eating up the distance to the dresser. By the light of the bathroom, he opened one drawer and pulled out underwear.

“Make that sixty,” Nolan amended.

King cackled. “You dog.”

Nolan hung up on him.

“Who are you talking to so early?” Eli asked, stepping into the underwear.

“My friend King. He’s just arrived in town for a visit.”

“That must’ve been an early flight.” Eli held up a second pair. “Want to borrow these?”

“He drove from Toronto. And yes, thanks.” Nolan rose and took the underwear, but instead of putting them on, he hooked them around Eli’s neck and used them to pull him closer.

Their smiling lips met, unhurried in the confines of the room where it was simply the two of them. Nolan felt Eli start to harden against him, and he was about to back him against the wall and drop to his knees when Eli dragged his mouth away with a groan. “Fuck. I really need to go.”

“Okay.” Nolan placed a kiss on his shoulder. “I’ll ride with you to the arena. My car’s still there. I’ll grab it and go meet King.”

“Sounds good,” Eli said, turning to the dresser, presumably for clothes.

“And hey.” Nolan reeled Eli back in by the wrist. “If I don’t see you before the game tonight—be gentle with yourself, okay? You’ll turn things around.”
