“So do I.”
I roll my eyes, despite the desire singeing my veins. “You own the place.”
“Which makes it particularly convenient that I can be here whenever I want.”
I shake my head, turning back to Oscar so he won’t see the stupid smile threatening my mouth. “Of course, you can. You’re the owner.”
“And you’re irritated.”
“I’m not irritated.”
“You’re brushing that horse like he personally offended you.”
I glance at Oscar’s mane and realize I’m gripping the brush much too tightly. “I’m fine.”
Dario steps farther into the stall. My whole body perks up and my nipples painfully tighten, begging for his touch.
I’m in trouble…
A medical study should be conducted on me because this cannot possibly be normal. One look from this man and my body burns with need; my heart starts pounding as if I’ve just finished a five-mile run.
“What are you doing here this early?” I ask, trying to sound casual.
“I came to saddle L’Oscuro.”
I look toward the stall beside us. “You’re riding him?”
“I was planning to.”
I stare at him pointedly. “Really? Because apparently, you like appearing wherever I happen to be.”
His eyebrows rise. Damn it. I hadn’t meant to say that. “Does that bother you?”
“Yes.”
His mouth curves. “You’re lying.”
I turn fully toward him. “How would you know?”
“Because if my presence genuinely bothered you, you wouldn’t be standing there staring at my mouth.”
My cheeks burn. Traitorous eyes. Traitorous body. I look away, but he’s already walking toward me.
“Sorry,” I mutter. “I’m just…I thought I’d get one morning where I could be alone with Oscar.”
He stops close enough that I can feel the heat coming off him. “Why, Bella?”
My sex clenches at the endearment and I look up at him stubbornly. “Don’t call me that,” I snap.
He raises his brow. “Really? You seem to like it when I call you that while your pussy clenches hard around my fingers as I fuck you just the way you like it,” he murmurs.
Oh fuck…I swallow a moan. And knowing I have no control around him exacerbates my irritation.
“Stop that, Dario,” I snap.
“Why?”
“Because you’re my boss and I lose myself around you,” I reply truthfully.
