I blink once.
Twice.
Three times.
She’s still there.
“You can’t be real.” Another blink. “Holy shit. I think you are real.”
She folds her arms, trying and failing not to smile. “Good morning, Ty Hollis. Pro bull rider.”
I gape at her. “How do you know who I am?”
She ignores me and tips her chin at me.
“I thought I was dreaming about you.”
Shit. I sound like a creep!
Get it together, Ty. Ugh. I internally groan at myself and pray that it was actually, in fact, an internal groan.
A laugh escapes her, and it’s the exact same laugh from Vegas, and God, I loved that laugh. It’s been playing in my head since I woke up in that bed alone.
I rake both hands through my hair. “This is...I...” I look around the cabin. “What are you doing here?”
I know for a fact this is the cabin Tucker and Robby dropped me off at. It’s all coming back to me now. He dropped me off and said I could have a late morning, and some of the other hands would take the morning shift. Okay, so how is she here?
One eyebrow slowly lifts, and she says, “This is your cabin?”
“Yeah? I think so...” Now I’m beginning to wonder if I stumbled into the wrong one and Tucker made a mistake.
She looks around and then back at me. “I was told this was my cabin.”
I stare.
She stares back.
Another pause.
“This is awkward,” I utter nervously. Because she’s like really, really pretty. So pretty, I can’t stop looking at her.
She laughs outright this time. “It really is.”
I finally stand, realizing two things simultaneously. One, I still have one boot on. Two, I’m wearing yesterday’s clothes and probably smell like horse.
I sigh. “I shouldn’t have had whiskey last night.”
She glances down. “Looks like you had a great time. At least you still have one boot on.”
“I know. It was a late night helping Tucker and Jack round up cattle that got out.”
“You helped Tucker and Jack?” She asks, eyebrows pinching in confusion. “Why are you here?”
I can’t stop staring at her. For the past day, I’d convinced myself I’d imagined half of Vegas. That maybe I’d dreamed up the whole thing because it was easier than believing I’d met someone incredible but whom I’d never see again. Then I actually dreamed about it, and here she is standing in front of me.
“How do you know Tucker and Jack?” we ask each other at the same time.
We both laugh.
