There he is. Rudolph. My mate. The reindeer of my heart.
Logan stepped into the main room, shoulders nearly as broad as the doorway behind him. At his height, he towered over almost everyone, and people naturally shifted aside as he walked through the crowd.
I watched him move like a predator, head turning, searching. He was carrying a bottle of pear cider, clearly for me. My silly smile grew.
Logan was also sunlight; he simply attracted people. “Bugs too,” Ruby grumbled, glaring at a girl who grabbed his arm, but he shook her off without looking. Apparently two marks were not enough to discourage his fan club.
His head snapped toward me. Our eyes met almost instantly. I could perfectly distinguish happiness and heat swirling through those silver pools before his lips curved into a slow, breathtaking grin—a promise of a long night ahead.
He prowled forward, eyes glowing in the darkness, and not because of the lights. Even the predators from the savannah would transfer to another habitat.
“Thought I sniffed heaven,” his voice purred through our mind-link.
“Just my new, amazing lycan scent.” Butterflies filled my belly.
“Mmm. It’s even better mixed with mine.” His tone sharpened. “When did you arrive?”
I almost laughed at his slight irritation and glanced at my watch. “Thirty-four minutes ago?”
He scoffed. “You didn’t tell me? You like making me come find you?”
“Yes,” I said without shame.
“It’s pouring out there. I was worried.”
Bella elbowed me. “So? Do you think I could train at Black Devil someday? Would they admit me?”
“Huh? Sorry?”
She followed my gaze and let out a huff. “Of course he’s already hunting you down. Can’t he stay away from you for a day?”
“Nope. He can’t,” Logan answered as he approached, eyes on me. “Trix, go play with your friends now.” He took my wrists and pulled me close to him, ignoring his sister’s scowl.
“Sorry, Bella, I’ll catch up with you in a minute.”
“In a day.”
Our lips brushed. Logan slid his arms around me, holding me. His tongue stroked mine, deepening the kiss. I relaxed into him with a happy sigh.
Goddess, I love this lycan so much.
After more kissing, Logan rested his forehead on mine and stared down at me. He guided my hand to his cheek, leaning into my touch.
“When are we moving in together?” The slight urgency in his voice melted me.
“I’ve missed you too.” I hid my face under his chin.
“That wasn’t an answer. When, Bunny Doc?”
“When you and my brother start getting along better.” I peered up at him with a grin. “And you and Zeus, too.”
He scoffed, silver eyes calculating me as if I were a complex wereball game. “They hate me because I’m too awesome. There’s no cure for awesomeness, and you should know. You’re a doctor.”
“Yeah, I’m your doctor.”
“That’s right. The doctor of my heart.” His voice dropped to a husky tone as he leaned in to kiss me again. “And raccoons don’t live very—ouch!”
“Don’t say that!”
