Click, click, click.

I glanced up. Logan had abandoned his assignment and was drumming his fingers and clicking a pen.

“Stop it, Logan.” I attempted a stern look and failed.

Logan glanced at me with guilt, inhuman eyes blazing. “I’ve got several diagnosed tics.”

I narrowed my eyes, unable to tell whether he was joking.

“You can treat me if you want,” he murmured, voice all intimate and husky. “I’m sorry, I’m distracting you. I’ll behave. Only for you, Bunny Doc.”

He did. For exactly twenty minutes.

“I’m taking a nap,” he announced, stretching his tree-trunk arms over his head.

I glanced at the pendulum clock on the wall. “You studied for…thirty-two minutes.”

His lips twitched into a devilish little smile. “A personal record.” His arms slipped around my waist and he lifted me clean off my chair, settling me onto his lap. His face disappeared into my neck as he peppered me with tiny kisses.

I squealed when blunt canines grazed the spot meant for him.

“Shhh!” That same voice from earlier semi-yelled. “If you want to make out, do it outside. You’re disturbing everyone.”

My face went from pale to scarlet. At least Logan was excellent for my blood circulation.

Logan turned his eyes to the culprit. “What did you say?”

My eyes scanned the tables until they landed on a petite girl with glasses thicker than Logan’s skull.

Surprise flashed across her face as Logan kept looking at her.

“Daisy?”

“Oh. Yvaine, right?” Recognition lit Daisy’s face. She nudged her glasses higher, her lashes so long they bumped against them. We hadn’t seen each other since I’d made her confiscate my phone in this very library so I’d stop texting a certain reindeer.

Actually, the only two times we’d met, she’d shushed me.

I slipped off Logan’s lap and into my own chair, though his arms stayed looped around my waist. “Classmate of yours?” he asked, attention drifting back to my neck.

I pushed his face away. “Daisy, this is Logan, my mate.”

She swallowed. Did she know who he was? Or was he just naturally intimidating?

“Heya!” Logan grinned, flashing his white teeth. “Sorry about the noise. Bunny here is squeaky.”

“Me too.” She blinked. “I mean, I need to go anyway.” Daisy collected her books, rulers, colored pens, and Post-it notes. “Nice seeing you again.” Then she fled, like she’d just experienced a tornado.

“She looked like a terrified hamster.” The tornado himself snickered.

“You intimidated her.”

“Who? Me?” He nosed my neck. “Can we take a break now?”

Break meant kissing.

I gripped his face, squeezing it. “I need two more hours.” I pulled him down toward my lap. “Now hush, lie down, and be a good boy.”

His eyes melted. “Yes, Master. Woof.” With a masculine sigh, he lowered his head, face against my stomach. “Sorry if I distract you, Bunny. I’ll be better, I promise.”
